Correct, 2 were from tackles (holding the ball), one was from a crumbed snap and the last was from a marked lead in the fwd pocket.

Now that is something. I cannot remember the last time, one of our Key forwards from goals other then marks on lead or in marking contests.

It's just an extra way to pick up a goal when the ball is not coming in the way you want it.

9 goals from 4 games.

Looks a lovely kick for goal. But I thought that, after I saw him nut (nice pun) one from 50+ on a 45 degree angle, in the Dubai game.

If Fraser comes back he comes back as a ruckman. JA has done very well from his opportunities. Not alot of the footy but he's making it count when he has it and is getting the job done defensively.

9 possessions, 4/5 marks. 4/5 tackles. Goals 4.0.

I'd take that game every week from a FF.

No need for JA to go back, we have Hackwell back there, loose man in defence who creates nothing and negates no one.
Like goldsack, waklein, heath shaw, brown and well any collingwood player tried in defence.

JA looked real tough with the bald noggen and tackled like a mad man. Good signs

can definitely see how handy he would be down back, fierce tackling and chases all day.

plus his kicking is pretty good from the glimpses of seen of him , obviously for goal hes a bit of a deadeye.

is his field kicking generally good down back aswell ? distance accuracy wise? i havent seen him use it that much obviously since hes been up forward in the games ive seen.

When will people stop taking about Anthony down back.

The guy is probably the first forward to come into the side with a real goalkickers mentality.

Who cares where he was recruited to play......

Let's not take for granted what we have got here......a guy who can kick goals.

THE GUY IS YOUNGER THAN THOMAS FOR FFS
but he won't get any of the "give the kid a chance" sympathy because he plays like a man instead of a boy.

Rusling: can't get on the park
Reid: Cannot kick for goal and will be babied for the next 3 years (although only 1yr younger than JA)
Dawes: Can't even kick goals in the VFL
Cloke: Does his best work 50-100 metres from goal

Let's not get so carried away with our "weath" of Forward KPP "talent" that we overlook a potential champion goalkicker for the pies.

JA permanent forward IMO

Good Point he is the Only Young KPP we have that is Actually Kicking Goals.

Cover your bases again OptiMaxwell, Goldsack will play 150 games of quality football, H, Shaw our future leader will go astray every now and then, and win more games of football than the imposter Maxwell has a right to be involved in, N. Brown is an AA Full Back in the making,
Hackwell will not play 150 games of quality football, He will never be a leader, and he is not a !, nor is he a ! but he is a ****ing DUD.

They all played ****en rubbish football last night.

Unlike you ignorant one, i bag all palyers after shitful perfromance not just one or two. All of the were poor, Brown was terrible, wakes was disinterested, Heath was too busy chasing tail, Goldsack is lacking fitness horrobily, and amxwell was flung inefectively around everywhere to plug gaps while creating more gaps which he didnt do well anway.

Every defender lowered his colours even some who you will defend, attack one after last night attack them all.

I dont think people are suggesting he should play down back. I agree he looks good as a forward. It's also good that he has versatility.
I wanted him down back, but after last night we have found a new third tall forward to go with cloke and one of dawes and rocca.

You can fling, hide Hackwell anywhere you want, and he will be always known as a ****ing DUD.

Good to see one of our tall forwards be able to kick at goals accurately.

Don't see why people think he can only be a 3rd tall saying he isn't tall enough. Pavlich, Fev and Lloyd are all 192cm, the same as Anthony and Anthony is still fairly skinny and could easillys add another 5-8 kgs onto his frame.

Has the potential to be our next FF, and one that can kick straight and apply's pressure to boot

I have been one suggesting he moves back. I think he will be more valuable down there. Right now he is needed up foward. I think most of the positives to his games are in his defensive intensity. ATM defenders are happy to zone of him and hence give him a bit of space. He is doing well but I do think when he gets more attention he wont be as valuable foward. his kicknig is a bonus tohugh

The major positive to his game is that he is not afraid of goalkicking responsibility, unlike ALL our other KPP forwards who shit themselves when they need to kick a set shot under pressure i.e Cloke 3rd qtr.

He has NOT been zoned off on that is an outlandiish fabrication, he has been manned up by the oppositions NO. 1 full back the last 2 weeks, and found space and kicked goals.

The guy kicks goals because he isn't afraid that he will let himself down and miss.......our other forwards over the years from Sav to Taz through to Trav have struggled with the responsibility of having to kick set shots, you can feel it, they are shitting themselves from a set shot, Anthony is Mr Cool and the kid is 20 years old.

Whatever his defensive potential it is nowhere near the value of a guy who can convert from inside 50.

To say he would be more value down back is just pure speculation.
