Still the only team I have ever seen that PREFERS conceding i50s and then going from there.
That 2-handball chain out the back of the contest to the goalsquare is so insanely well-rehearsed. There is someone there and free like 90% of the time.

Yes but we concede i50s for fun. We're clearly astute at defence but fgs it is still a stupid tactic to get everything going from defence. That 2-handball chain out the back of the contest to the goalsquare is so insanely well-rehearsed. There is someone there and free like 90% of the time.
Just shows inside 50’s mean nothing. We’ve won inside 50 counts and lost.Still the only team I have ever seen that PREFERS conceding i50s and then going from there.

Just goes to show our coach knows a fair bit more than our BF posters! Again, I digress as SuperCoach is the true mettle of the coaching man!Just shows inside 50’s mean nothing. We’ve won inside 50 counts and lost.
He had a really good night tonight, Horse. In the first five minutes, the difference between the two teams was very obvious. We did our usual business of stagnant sideways kicks and trying to slowly scramble it down the wing, while the Hawks attacked through the corridor. I have a feeling Longmire acted accordingly and very quickly, because within the next five minutes we were playing almost completely different. It was clear Horse had gotten us into a mentality to run and spread and use the corridor with a bit more dare because that was the only way to surprise a Hawthorn outfit that knew us back to front. We didn't start out playing like it, but our players adapted. Hopefully he continues to see just what the players at his disposal are capable of if given the license to play to their strengths.
Please stop with the nonsense that our players aren't allowed to take the game on.
If you learned anything from last night it should be that WHEN OUR SKILLS ALLOW we take the game on as well as any team.
We play a whole different style of footy on the SCG tactically - that is where I have an issue with Longmire. Watch last week, there was no intent to use the corridor or break a line. It’s very safe and conservative but ultimately stagnant football, and it’s stoppage-driven. Horse is a good enough coach to recognise that on bigger grounds, if our players spread and run hard, they can play to their natural strengths. His next step is to get us to do that at the SCG. We’re not perfect skills-wise, but we should take the risky option more often because on the smaller ground, when it works, it will pay off big time. Playing so conservatively at home just invites our opposition to feel equal footing in tbe game.
Enjoyed Horse being funny about having to show Ronke how to get on the ground.
Gets points for selecting Robbo and persisting with Cunningham.
Will honour my promise to not call him Mule for the next week.
Cunningham has been better than good this year. Was ordinary, like the whole team, last week.
He was good last night, serviceable in a few other games. He was not ordinary last week, he was woeful.
I think we just win despite the i50 differential. If we could we'd want to win the inside 50s everytime. Having said that when we lose the i50 count there's an open forward line because the other team plays a high press and we get efficient entries.Just shows inside 50’s mean nothing. We’ve won inside 50 counts and lost.

I am just going to write it now since I will almost certainly forget but last night Fox Footy highlighted the real problem with the Swans.
The league average for transitioning from defence to the forward line is about 30%, where the ball goes from defence and works its way forward. For the Swans, it is closer to 10%, meaning that 9 out of 10 of the times we try and take the ball out of defence and work its way forward the play breaks down and the opposition get the ball back.
Smith, Mitchell and Omeara were well held and had little influence on the game. Team played to instructions to nullify their input. Coach may have had some input into that.
This seems to be the norm for us. We try and grind out a win with safe, contested football and if that hasn't worked and we find ourselves down in the last we open the game up.He had a really good night tonight, Horse. Players adjusted to the hawks
Grundy thumped one deep etc, nothing to do with horse, players just had skill this week, which he can’t control
He doesn’t really pick the team either I heard last week
He did a good presser this week, so well done horse , cracked a joke
There's a good reason on why Clarkson has never won a coach of the year award. I am better than him and the best coach in the competition.
Not specifically, no. Unsubscribing from this thread is your best betMods, is there a way I can mute Kingy’s posts where he is specifically talking about Longmire, but leave the rest visible?
