They can have it either way. Either he gets credit for making the grand finals and takes the blame for the utter shit we are serving up at the moment, or he isn't to blame for the current situation and doesn't deserve credit for making grand finals.

I'm not fussed which interpretation people want to go with, as long as it is consistent.

like most things, surely the answer lies somewhere in the middle?

Probably because we have heaps of injured players already and he thought he could play through the pain like he had done a number of times before.

Didn't work, but good on him for having a go I reckon.
It's as selfish as McHack's determination to play in the GF and it's proof it doesn't work!

Horse on OTC
JB: Hows Buddy
JL: Going well. He needs to improve defensively. He needs help forward and hopefully will get it in the next couple of weeks

OK it's only a very little thing, but Longmire is asked a question about Franklin, a champion forward, and Horse's first thought is that Buddy needs to improve defensively.
Wrong mindset.

Buddy chases/tackles with intent. As far as I'm concerned his defensive pressure is just fine, what I want to see is him in the forward 50 creating problems for the opposition, not feeling the need to roam further to 'do his bit' defensively for the team.

If Longmire feels the need, we have plenty of other players who can bring defensive pressure better than Buddy, we have no one else who comes close to what he can produce in an attacking sense.

Hang on, how do you know it was Jack pushing to play? How do you know it wasn't the coaches going to Jack and saying something along the lines of "look we know you're injured but we already have heaps of players out and we really need you to try to play through the pain so we have some experience on the park"?

They should know better. You can do far more damage playing with injury!

Id change this to laughable!

I don't get it. Do you want players to be ruling themselves out the moment they get a bruise in a tackle?

If players didn't play through injuries, you'd barely get a team on the park. Have you been labouring under the illusion that we send 22 people in rude and viral health out there each week? Some of these blokes can barely bend over to tie their shoes Mon-Thur, particularly later in their careers.

He's probably been pushing through significant pain to try and make a contribution. Good on him. It's up to the match committee to select the side.

Damn right. Can't blame Jack for playing week in week out. Solely on the match committee to decide whether he's good enough to play or not.
