Has anyone notice the unusual one-handed drop Johnson uses when he kicks. I have not noticed it before but saw him doing it several occasions on Sunday. It looks ungainly and in one instance he kicked it OOB. Good player but could kick better.

It looks a bit like darryl white or brennan in the way he kicks. nothing to worry about and a real find this year.

Its nothing new and something he was advised to attempt to rectify when he was a Colts player. The other facet of his game that needs attention is his reluctance to spoil when he should instead of trying to mark all the time particularly against stronger players eg., Brown, Bradshaw.

He's also a touch short too when combating the Browns\Tredreas. He also seems to have lost a bit too much weight this season as well, bit gangly.

No worse or better than the two handed bouce by the big bird. he is developing nicely.

He's un-orthodoxed and if they try to coach that out of him they will kill him off slowly. He's a super talent, would love to see him in a couple of years when he's put on a few kilos!

He needed to loose some weight (Off his Butt) to increase his mobility, just needs to build his upper body strength to become a very very good player.

Geez, your a hard taskmaster. Picking on his one blatant clanger and ignoring 1/2 dozen pinpoint passes under pressure.

He's taller than both mentioned. Needs time in the gym - yes, short - no.

I wonder whether time in the gym will affect his natural balance and be a disadvantage...

I wouldn't think so. It's not like he needs to put on a lot of weight. Maybe 5kg max (would take him upto around 100kg - he's listed at 96kg on the Docker's player profile page).

I agree he made quite a few good passes and although his kicking style is unorthodox it's effective, so why change it.

Give the youngster a break.

Sure he has a few flaws, but the promise he brings must outweigh his misgivings at this stage.

He has raw talent and has the potential with TIME to develop into an outstanding player for us.

His pros outway his cons. He reminds me of the Krakouer brothers. Not the style he uses, but the fact he looks unique in how he excecutes' his kicks.

He has an uncanny ability to hit impossible targets in in traffic.

Oh yeah. He's my buddy.:)

The way he drops the ball might also be an advantage, considering the number of times he sells dummies to the opposition; always with that cheeky, one-handed feign.

Someone told him to grip it properly, against the Dees. He dropped it nicely on his boot using both hands as a guide. It just looks like it would be a more effective technique

He missed more targets against the Dee's than he has all year combined.

Maybe he should go back to what he was doing.

point taken. it is really just an aesthetic thing for me, it looks wrong, but if he's kicking effectively who cares.
