This will be unpopular but i didn't see alot in him. His disposal looked a little sloppy and he is short. Those two characteristics normally dont equal success. Hope im wrong, but to me on first site, i think he may struggle. Its not like he is 18, the upside in him looks minimal. good goal though and hope he proves me wrong!
Needs a player to be put on the long term injury list round 1 but that means that player must not play until round 8, I don't think we have anyone for that.
Can be elevated round 12 onwards regardless of injuries.

Barring misfortune that just about kills him , certainly means he is not in my DT. Stokes can thank his lucky stars.
Like the look of Simpkin , he's listed at 181cm so if true he is a reasonable size.MiniStokes (MiniMat?) is a ripper. Reminds me of Jarryd Blair. Is ready for senior AFL action.
It doesn't kill him, although it just means he has to keep his form up for longer. If he's kicking bags in the VFL (as he did last year) come round 12 there's every chance he'll get the elevation, especially since none of our other rookies are putting forward big cases for the mid season elevation at this stage.
He must maintain his good form for quite a while in the VFL- and he will if he is up to it.
He has done everything asked of him so far - a great start. Hope he is the next Sam Mitchell.
Perhaps but its a long way down the track R12 , a lot of other players can stick their hand up , eg Smedts will get a game when fit "lock it in". Sort of the same as Menzel last year , his fitness has put him back but he will push his way IMO.
Anyway , Simpkin has impressed me. He is a player who is ready to go , his body is mature all he needs is game time to acclimatise to the speed of the game. Certainly puts pressure on Byrnes,Stokes and perhaps Motlop. I have a feeling if given a go he wont let us down.
That was a beautiful kick.Hit Brown fair and square on the tit in the dying seconds of the game. Looked pretty good to me!
