In light of Corey Jones recent form a work mate who is avid North Melbourne started droning on about this bloke and how he is so much better than Didak. As you could imagine this drew some fierce debate from myself, and since its silly asking the collingwood and North fans who is better, as they will just say their player is better, I put it to impartial fans if you were putting together a side who would you take first Didak or Corey Jones?

Jones easily, Didak cant kick 7 goals in a match.

Jones is hard to match up because he is very good overhead for someone his size and is too quick on the lead for someone bigger. He has been able to kick a reasonable number of goals with what I rate as my own side being #16 for quality of inside 50s in the league.

We have great in and under midfielders but they torch the ball something chronic with long kicks inside 50. If Jones was playing for a side with a good quality ball use midfield then he would be kicking a mountain of goals.

I think Didak is a pretty good player but I think he has been given the ability to play to the best of his ability.

Jones is the better forward.

Didak is the better midfielder.

Different players. Obviously I would say Didak, but I'd rather leave it to the neutral fans...

Doesn't make any sense?

Jones is what you call a good player.

Didak is a class player.

didak any and every day of the week kicks goals can go into the midfield and is a footballer before an athlete smarter then almost every player in the comp not saying jones isnt any good but didak for mine

He has had the players around him to allow him be the best he can possibly be. Try being a forward with Adam Simpson kicking helicopters at you three feet over your head. ;)

I agree Didak has some freaky skills, reminds me of Daicos a bit at ground level but he is more of a small man player. He will get a few cheap goals hanging back and kick some pearlers from the boundry but he really isn't the guy Collingwood go to in order to win games week in and week out and is not the focus of the best defenders.

Hawks will be focused on stopping Jones, therein lays the biggest difference between the two players. Didak is more the opportunist rather than focal point.

Not trying to play down jones but im sure others such as harvey grant and simpson will be looked at first to be shut down by opposition sides. And dids I would think would be one of the major players opposition coaches would look to stop on our team

Harvey, Grant and Simpson. Lol. Are these the only players we have on our list? Everybody besides North supporters seem to think so...

exactly, you guys overrate some of your players a bit, beside Simpson grant an dharvey i think only Wells, Hamish, Sinclar and Jones are worth mentioning

Harris is a GUN, and exactly what we need at Collingwood. So is Rawlings, though obviously he doesn't get the "attention" which is what the original point was.

I think it highlights how little you know about our team.

I am not bias but clearly its Didak. :D

Seriously stupid thread - they are two completely different players. Its like saying who is better Glass or Simon Black. Who cares. At least make a comparison to a like player - e.g. Nath Brown (Rich) vs Didak.

All Australian in 2006 (being a Collingwood player, that's a big achievement) and was arguably the best small forward in the AFL.

Then he had a knee re-construction. It takes roughly a year usually to get bck to your bets after a knee re-co.

Didak is only just getting back to his best. He's a much more skillfull and classy player than Jones, who I also rate highly.

How many times has Didak won a game of his own boot. He kicks those tough goals when they count and i would choose Didak everyday of the week over Jones.

Cory Jones is underated and I would like to keep it that way. I think that this a big plus for North.
Some interesting facts. Kangaroos last two final games last year, Jones out injured.
Round 1 2008, Jones injured early minutes of match. Did not return.
Makes you wonder how important he is to North!
