He is the shortest 200cm+ player I've ever seen. I always thought he was a 'short' ruckman, like around 198ish.

Hayes is listed 205 I think but looks a lot taller than lycett.

Interesting some of the lower hitout games were against quality opposition. He basically drew even in combo with Lobb, against Hickey and Ladhams.

In another game he was beaten 30ish to 20ish by Kieran Briggs and similar beating by Ned Moyle for GC.

I guess on paper he certainly looks like a competitive and ready for AFL ruck.

My question for Dogs supporters would be, does he take contested marks? We need a ruck that takes, or at least can compete in marking situations. Our inability to take marks around the ground is a real weakness of ours. His ruck craft is important, as is his ability to get involved at ground level, but obviously from a VFL ruck you can't expect too much, main thing I'm hoping is he can mark a bit.

Gary Sweet Played for the Glenelg reserves in SANFL in 1977-79 before moving to Melbourne in 1980. He kicked a goal at Adelaide Football Park as a dashing wingman with Glenelg in the 1979 reserves Grand Final.

If we are offering minimum salary for Lycett, someone else could easily double that for him to be their state league ruck.

For me, if Hayes is happy to stick around, I'd certainly be targeting keeping Hayes and Visentini and bringing in Sweet. Personally feel like that is our best combo to keep.

Given our track record on developing talls, let alone rucks, how much exactly do you think we saved on not "developing" him.

Personally think the kid was lucky we didn't pick him up in 2018 or else is career may have been shot by now.
