And what's with all the Port trolls on this board? Do I have to post that graphic again? ......
Much as I'm very amused each time I see that graphic any threads on Carr or Schofield are legitimate threads for us to visit.

end of season

White and our first pick for J Carr and M Carr

That way they can play together and be successful

Your club really is pretty pathetic. How many finals series since ur inception - Laughable...

yes we know he left for family reasons. But if he didnt want to play for freo he wouldn't have come back and played for us, simple as that.

Hopefully Josh can turn it around, and i am sure he will, but his year has been shaky.

By the way, i compare them loosey to the skills. Like i said, nobody will be as bad as Mcmanus. If you really sit down and watch the number of turnovers or in-efective kicks he gets you would be surprised

Josh was set to resign after we won the premiership, but his mother cracked the biggest hissy fit apparently and so he said he wanted to go home.
I hope his mother is happy that she has ruined the rest of his football career, as he ended up playing for a club that continually under achieves and has a knob for a coach. Josh will see out his contract with Freo and will return to Port when his GF wants to return home ;)

From newspaper columnist and Freo fan Matt Price we have Docker slump is of Seinfeld proportions.
Here is the relevant piece for Port fans:
"....Shaw questioned the Dockers' leadership and hardness and seeming inability to apply pressure to opposing sides. He singled out Josh Carr, the tough guy of Port's premiership team who returned home to play with his brother, Matthew. Shaw reckoned Freo had turned Carr soft. "He's not playing that style of football anymore, he's (now) one of the leading uncontested possession players in the competition.....".

Why would Freo turn him into an oustide player when in and under's are so so important? It boggles the mind.

Hey, can we see the premiership ladder one? (current version)

Auste,

you have never made a decision and regreted it?

what he thought it was like playing for the dockers and how it turned out, may be 2 different things.

He should go back to what he does best and get a run with role, remember him doing a job up at the gabba a few years ago for port on Voss, kicked 4 on him and kept Voss quiet.
CC has him running free at the moment and hes copping a tag, give him a job i reckon, starting this week on a Goodwin or a Riccuito.

If he is used in this role then Riccuito is non-negotiable as his opponent. This match-up was one of the great clashes in the history of Port v Adelaide stoushes.

hello fellow freo fans, i must say you've got to love the port and wcoast supporters that come in for a dig. The honest truth about j carr is he aint as good as port made out. He is basically a scraggy tagger that uses questionable tactics to negate his opponent. It was clear he was going last yr, thats why M williams made him a deputy VC to everyones surprise. The club also used dodgy tactics to try and keep him. When it was clear that none of this was going to work they boosted his image up, with m williams coming out saying what a champ he is, for no reason whatsoever.

Port fans always go on about the hard ball he would win, but if you take a look at ports final series last yr it was r james that was winning the hard ball not j carr. With r james out and struggling this yr, then port have also struggled.

And I aslo wouldnt worry about how you club has gone. The afl screwed up with you its pretty simple. After wcoast had too many concessions and dominated, they did the opposite with you and you've had to pick players up via the draft. Although, over the history your trading person whoever that is should be sacked. Port were given heaps of concessions, and if you take them out of the side like r james, tredrea, lade, dew, wilson etc theres a ton of them, they'd be struggling as well. The honest reality is if anyone is incompetent, its port they have had the players given to them and took four finals series to win after being easily the best home and away side. They have lost their opportunities, unlike brisbane. It is their culture of losing finals and choking under pressure that makes them criticise your side.

I would say whoever started the questioning of j carr in this thread is exactly right, i've seen quite a few games this yr and geelong esp was a terrible game by him. CC should go and j carr needs to get in there and be dirty like he was at port, it’s the only way he knows.

So you dedicate your time on here to get on Port's back Jack...

Focus on your own club, and get ur facts right about the concessions.. You are a weasel mate

Another very poor game from Josh today.
He made 5 shocking turn overs in the first quarter.

His form is getting worse and worse.
I look at the stats and see he had about 26 touches today.Plus the afl website has him as our 4th best player, what a bloody joke. His foot skills and decision making seem to get worse every week

I thought he tried hard ALL day today, and would certainly have him in my best half doz.

does anyone consider that his form slump might have co-incided with the loss of Matthew Carr??

Has anyone considered that the loss of Matthew Carr has co-incided with the poor results of Fremantle.....he is one of your best outside midfielders.......hes easily your fittest player too, gotta love him lol

Missing your brother doesn't make you lose your ability to kick, or gain an ability to have a brain freeze and turn the ball over, although having said that i know what you mean :)

His brain freeze count and turn over count would rival Mcmanus most games this year, even when he has played ok he has made some bad turn overs

Re: Josh Carr - The New Mcmanus

He is very slowly improving.
His game against the dees was acceptable although he is still having several brain freezes a match.
There are a number of times each week where he puts a team mate under a lot of pressure because of a ******** hand ball or kick.
I have no idea how he missed that goal, from 5m out

Improving slowly, but he still has a long, long, long , long way to go before he is in our top 10 players. He should be there without doubt, but it's taking a long time to settle in.

In my mind, he remains the new Macca...... which basically means.
He can get the ball, but when he gets it he ********s it up. Hopefully it's not long before we are saying he is our best mid-fielder

I don't think i have seen a player more dissapointing this year than josh Carr. In my mind he is the new Mcmanus, Carr just can't kick and he has so many brain freezes a match it's scary. What has happened to him.

I reckon Josh is liable for more turnovers in the back half than any other player this year. I can't doubt his handpassing really, he hasn't had a chance to be really tested, although if you remember the Geelong game he handed the ball directly to ablett for their first goal. His kicking has been shocking, resulting in about 5-6 goals from kicking out from full back.

I think the problem is he is playing differently to how he played at port, at port he was the in and under player, and at freo he seems to be more of a reciever which he isn't.

Sadely, my list of 2 players i least want to get the ball is now 3.
In order of players i look away at when they get the ball is.

1. Mcmanus
2. Headland
3. Josh Carr

Am I the only person that thinks this?

The least you could do is acknowlege that he has been excellent the last couple of weeks instaed of just carping all the time.

Good article here:
