They need to get Jordy and Moore done so they can move on Daics and Brody M.
Jeebus, I've missed a lot on my season playing SC, which sucks because it was my worst season evah!

Sea fog wants Moore re-signed?

:moustache: ;)

I want all those we need re-signed ASAP so that we can assess whether we can afford to enter the trade market.
Boring response, I'll have to play elsewhere. :p

Yes a trend setter in the forward line with a bag of tricks that was seemingly bottomless.
His true talent was field position and poise, that was at the heart of his game.
Never caught unprepared for any situation and always at least a step ahead - mentally - of any opponent.
His shining moment for me as a forward was the goal against Gastev, caught on the boundary line in the forward pocket and slung sideways away from goals he calmly and deliberately twists the ball to the correct angle and kicks the goal - whilst falling away from goal on the boundary line.
Jaw dropping.
But his dominance of the pivot for those of us priveledged to watch it live was far, far better than his magnificent forward mastery.
Remember his first Reserves game, had 40 plus possesions and kicked a few goals if I remember. I also remember going home thinking that I have just seen the best Footballer I ever laid eyes on
Even early on no one could ever have mistaken Peter for other than the champion and the complete professional that he was.
The siren would sound for the first bounce, the fans held their breath and the opposition would concentrate ferociously.
Peter would slide in and the pill would seemingly melt into his grasp, a sidestep - one defeated, a double reverse sidestep - second defeated - then a pause in momentum - NOT a stop but a miniscule change of pace and the last opponent would lunge hopelessly unbalanced past.
Peter in the clear 80 yards out was a dead set certainty to put that pill directly onto the chest of the leading Collingwood forward.
The crowd roared mightily ??
Early games yes because he was something the football world had never seen before.
Later there would be the hush as he approached the pill and took possession. After the bullet pass hit the leading forward a loud exhalation of just one whispered word that said it all.
D a i c o s . . . . .

I clearly remember that mark too, the 1980 prelim, that last qtr and that Collingwood chant - as a young fella in a packed house at Waverly, one of the most intimidating things I've heard!

I also remember his one handed grabs too, one armed chicken winged by a panicked opponent, still took the mark and then usually goaled.

I know the footy world talks about the pontiff but they were different players, Daicos was the first that truly made the ball talk - there'll never be another like him.

Like Pendles, no one before or since has the play reading / evasive skills like him - there'll never be another.

We're talking about players with extreme dexterous ability, I think Josh has the same sublime hand eye coordination and like his brother it's likely in the genes.

I know we say there'll never be players like these three I've mentioned here, but is it possible that just maybe one of these two new Daics could be different but just as good? A stretch I know but one can dream.

Whenever I hear people who saw Carmen live talk about him it sounds almost mythical. My dad still maintains that he had the most gifts he'd ever seen on the footy field
And Greening better again. He is the megastar who was cut down out of every player I have seen, any club. Neale Daniher the next

Poor John could do it all - if he had played his full career without serious lingering injuries he would most certainly have been in the top echelon of hall of famers

Probably the front runner, Coventry family and Shaw family Of high note.
Richards/Pannams hard to toss. Rose family also

I know that and should have acknowledged it. He was renowned for his dedication to maintaining his body in prime condition. Shame he didn't do the same with his temperament.
Had an annual routine of going for a 10 mile jog every New Year’s Day morning.
And did 4 laps of the tan in 54 mins...

My dad (and my granddad when he was alive) haven't forgiven the Saints for what happened to Greening. Well before my time, but a tragedy nonetheless

Firstly the grievous bodily harm - yes legally assault - on Greening cost us a couple of flags.
Secondly the celebration of of the career of the piece of sh@t that sent the sniper out to smash John from behind.
Thirdly the elevation of the sniper onto the StKilda honours board.
Beating that pile of stinking sh@t in a grand final made my heart soar and to this day I hope it burns in their souls.

How is it even in contemplation that Daicos - someone who can kick a football - is not able to be re-signed?

We have so many sub-standard ball users on much more coin that he plus we are paying so and so’s like Beams a mint by comparison who doesn’t even make a minimal attempt to kick a football.

If Daicos should leave for financial reasons this would be the biggest indictment on this grand old club in my lifetime.
