I'd say Zaka, being a good Essendon man and Managed by Scott Lucas would have agreed to terms with the Bombers. They'd now be waiting to see if we are any chance of luring a big fish. If so this would then determine whether we needed to front or backload his contract based on what the fishy needs. Plausible???.
This makes zero difference to the overall contract though?

He was all but signed with us. I followed it very closely. The kid actually changed his twitter setting late on the day the trade was going to go through but didn't. All the journos on the ground were saying it was being negotiated and it fell through. Who cares anyway. We dodged a bullet and got Charles curnow

Show me where he had requested a trade? Its common knowlege that when players request trades, whether contracted or not it is made public through their managers/clubs. If you followed it closely this should be a breeze for you to make us all look stupid.

This is totally wrong. It's common knowledge that the two clubs were working on a deal late in that trade period. But who cares?

So Carlton offered, and the Giants "refused to trade him"

Doesn't sound to me like "the two clubs were working on a deal late in that trade period" at all, sounds more like one club made an ambit bid that was quickly and soundly rejected by the other - for a player who had two years left on his contract and had given no indication he wanted to leave (quite the opposite if you take his own statements on the matter into account).

But hey, whatever floats your boat I suppose.

Don't think so. Gws blocked the trade. Of course the player agreed to terms with carlton otherwise the trade wouldn't have been proposed. No clue sorry mate

The player had agreed to terms otherwise the trade wouldn't have been proposed?

You do realise that we offered pick 6 for Stevie Johnson the year before he came to us for a future fifth round pick. It was an ambit bid on a player where no negotiations had taken place. Clubs often say "what about player X?" And the club (or the player) can say "nope"

It happens all the time mate.

I remember the Jacksh trade was held up for more than three days because Mark Whiley didn't want to leave the Giants, had to be talked into it.

Just because Carlton wanted him, doesn't even remotely mean (or come close to proving) that he wanted Carlton.

If tomlinson wasnt on board what were gws blocking smarty pants? If the player doesn't want to move, the club can't make him move, see contact law 101. He also just happened to change his twitter account that afternoon and then changed it back again. Again you are wrong. Just admit it and move forward.

They weren't "blocking" anything. They were rejecting an offer.

The tomlinson deal fell apart... Literally in the last 30 mins of trade week.

It was tied in with freo and how gws would not let McCarthy go

Any evidence he ever requested a trade? Any evidence at all? Anything?

Any evidence there were ever any discussions between the clubs? Any?

Any evidence at all that these "discussions" ever even remotely escalated to "negotiations" that could fall trough? Any? Anything at all?

Anything?

Wow, you have that he followed your club on twitter - brilliant - he also follows the Sydney Swans, the Box Hill Hawks, the North Ballarat Roosters and the Western Sydney Wanderers. So which of those clubs is he/was he/will he be going to?

It also might be marginally (and I stress, extremely marginally) more credible, if you could spell his name right.

In short - the people who said he was coming to Carlton and who you said were 100% correct were actually 100% WRONG.

Ha ha, you're off track.

Fwiw, once Tomlinson established himself in the GWS team in 2016, he then wanted to stay in Sydney.

Guess you want evidence? personally, wouldn't mind seeing your evidence that Tomlinson wasn't keen for a trade to carlton in 2015 when he was still a fringe player & he comes from Victoria.

North have as much chance as your club applying for another priority pick. Bluws only get GWS scraps.
Marchbank, Plowman, Lamb and now Pickett are former Giants who have cemented themselves in Carltons best 22. Not really scraps.

meanwhile North get Ahern. ok

He bought a house in Balmain in late 2015. There is not one bit of evidence he wanted out, everything suggests Carlton went hard at him in 15 and he publicly declared he wasnt going anywhere before trade week in 16 and has now extended for 2 more years. There is 2 sides to every story, your ITK posters are giving the Carlton side of events, rejection can be embarrassing.

Lol

He was out the door..... Just accept that and move on. Perhaps look at the gws board in trade week 2015.
