So with Leon Cameron saying Josh was going to spend the weekend in Melbourne with his family to weigh up his options, if he doesn't re-sign with GWS, his decision will become clear.

From what I've heard, St Kilda wants to spend their money on a FA if possible, which means Kelly is not their number one option. If we weren't able to secure a FA then I think we'd go hard at Kelly, but I think the Roo's would be the most likely suitor at this stage. Either way, I'd definitely be putting my money on Josh not being at GWS next year, the money is too good to refuse.

I'm assuming you're being sarcastic. In any case it's an odd thing for the coach to put out there

What should he have said? We didnt put this story in the media and its now a massive talking point and will get thrown up by journos until he either signs an extension or the season finishes. Not a great situation but theres not much Leon can do about it.

:D Amusing watching North and Saints fight over Kelly when he's on our list and we clearly have the inside running.
Good to know we can have a bidding war if he does decide to go, I guess. Other clubs would show intetrst no doubt.
He will pick a club. You won't get to shop him around.

Been through this in the thread many times. He cant leave our list except to the PSD without our agreement. That's a simple fact.
He may get that agreement and likely will as a trade is in everyones interest, not the least his if he chooses North. But we can shop him around.

You can't force him to play at a club he dosent want to go to. I agree if he picks us or the saints things will get worked out. But you won't be picking where he plays.

Sorry but that really is rubbish and you've ignored my post which is simple truth

But it isn't the truth. Both player and club have to agree to a trade before it happens.

GWS can't just decide to trade him to St Kilda if he's already decided to go to North and only North.

Yeah? It's put up or shut up time. Tell me in the history of trading when a club has forced a player to a certain club against their will aside from the examples below..

I only know of two instances when a player has not gone to a club he nominated and went to another club via the P.S.D.

Nick Stevens (wanted Collingwood) to Carlton and Jade Rawlings (wanted North) to the Bulldogs.

Port got nothing for Stevens, and the trading of Rawlings was a statistical outlier which might not even be possible now.

The controllers of the GWS, the AFL, will not allow such grandstanding to affect their list improvement.

Read your post and mine they are not inconsistent. And again what I said is simple truth.

1- Youre not Ch7. Dont term us "The GWS".
2- AFL are not our controllers as we have shown time and again we dont roll over for them. Wether they like grandstanding or not.
3- A trade will be done to the value the Giants expect and be happy with as North wont throw out a $$ and length offer like that and skimp on the trade. The AFL wouldnt like that either.

Thanks for not answering the question.
