It has nothing to do with who has picks. It all comes down to where Kelly wants to play. The trade will work which ever club he nominates.

There is no chance either Blues or North will trade their 2017 or 2018 picks to get Josh Kelly as both clubs want them to build. I don't see why 2 late first round picks can't satisfy the Giants.

I have a simple rule in life that has always served me surprisingly well. Be suspicious of anyone who tells you how wonderful, rich, powerful or well connected they are. Bragging about it is a contra-indicator of all of those things.

I'm not bragging and as I say, I'm not pretending to know shit about the Dusty move, or anything like that.

It just so happens that on the Kelly thing, yeah, there's some stuff. It doesn't make me a better person, or any shit like that.

I'm certainly not wonderful, rich, or powerful. I have good connections in journalism that give me good juice on some stuff (not Kelly fwiw) but that is a function of getting pissed at house parties with uni mates in 1999 rather than any brilliance of my own.

Did he also "leak" Dusty's offer from North?

Just my 2 bob "IF" Kelly was to decide Carlton was his preference this would be my proposal;

Gibbs to Adelaide for their 1st and 2nd round

Carltons 17, 18 1st round and Adelaides 1st round to GWS for Kelly and Hopper.

Some would call this mad but its essentially 3 players for 3 picks as SOS would have a 2nd round pick to play with.

On Carltons behalf its Kelly for 2017 pick 1-3 and 2018 pick 1-8 (fair in my opinion)

Hopper for 2017 pick 15-18 (fair in my opinion but could be debatable) and Gibbs for a 2nd round pick.

Really you could swing it a few ways but in my opinion if it was to fall that way I would be very happy.

Bird in the hand is worth 2 in the bush.....
