Track position seems to be everything at Ruapuna... unless the driver in front makes a major error.Brown summed it up fairly well post his poor qualifying, it's hard to pass, a bit of a goat track.

He claims it was an interlocking wheel, which might have been a pretty good excuse..... except he went back 2 more times to finish the job.WTF is going on with Chaz Mostert these days?
Yesterday he copped a 30 second penalty for deliberately driving Kostecki off the road, forcing him into a spin which took him across the in-field, across the next section of track, and almost resulted in him hitting Brown. It was incredibly dangerous, and Mostert was lucky to ONLY get a 30 second penalty - he could/should arguably have been DQed from the entire race.
... and that's not an isolated incident. At Taupo he did something similar, deliberately ramming Feeney 3x as Feeney overtook him on the main straight. The only difference is that Feeney was awake to Mostert's stupidity, and so wasn't forced off the track.
Why is Mostert all of a sudden trying to smash into other drivers when they overtake him this season? I thought the Taupo incident was another in the line of recent T8/TWG clashes - these have been going for a while now, starting with Wood/Brown at the Paperclip last year, followed by Wood taking out Feeney in the Grand Final in Adelaide. But this wasn't a T8 incident, indicating that Mostert's behaviour is now a pattern.
... and it wasn't the first time he's done it. As I said before, he previously attempted the EXACT SAME THING against Feeney in Taupo. He claims it was an interlocking wheel, which might have been a pretty good excuse..... except he went back 2 more times to finish the job.
That could have ended real ugly for a lot of people.
If Brodie had have hit something and/or someone I have little doubt he would have.... and it wasn't the first time he's done it. As I said before, he previously attempted the EXACT SAME THING against Feeney in Taupo.
WTF is going through his brain at the moment?
He was lucky to ONLY cop a 30 second penalty. Should have been DQed from the race in my opinion.
There were signs in the middle of last season that Woody was quickly catching him for outright speed, he just had poor mechanical luck and the odd incident. Now he's gone past him, so I reckon he's feeling the pinch but also he's won his title now so the care factor might be less.Absolutely agree on the commentary, that was downright dangerous from Chaz over the weekend.
Seems like Wood's ahead of him for pace at the moment - acting out a little bit maybe? He's never been afraid of contact (just ask Cam Waters) but that was next level.
Yeah if anything, winning the title should've released the pressure on him. He's driving pretty angry for some reason though. There were signs in the middle of last season that Woody was quickly catching him for outright speed, he just had poor mechanical luck and the odd incident. Woody also has a reputation for attempting to drive overtaking cars off the road. Not sure this is a healthy thing for TWG.I think he is definitely feeling the pressure of Woody being so quick. Wood certainly cops the short straw when it comes to reliability.
Half the field has that reputationWoody also has a reputation for attempting to drive overtaking cars off the road. Not sure this is a healthy thing for TWG.
Not many take it as far as Wood did against Brown at QR last year, or Mostert vs Feeney & Kostecki in NZ this year.Half the field has that reputation
Cam Hill is a bad one, and he has the gaul to slag everyone else off. Will Brown struggles to pass anyone without hitting them, Cam Waters and Randle often find themselves in incidents, Aaron Cameron too though not all his own fault. Not many take it as far as Wood did against Brown at QR last year, or Mostert vs Feeney & Kostecki in NZ this year.
There's a difference between hitting someone while overtaking and deliberately ramming ramming them, in an attempt to drive them off the road - which is what both Wood & Mostert have done in the last 12 months.Cam Hill is a bad one, and he has the gaul to slag everyone else off. Will Brown struggles to pass anyone without hitting them, Cam Waters and Randle often find themselves in incidents, Aaron Cameron too though not all his own fault.
I feel more for guys like Cam Hill - realistically they have to work so much harder to overtake than someone in a much faster car does.Cam Hill is a bad one, and he has the gaul to slag everyone else off. True, but he does have a habit of spearing blokes.I feel more for guys like Cam Hill - realistically they have to work so much harder to overtake than someone in a much faster car does.
I suspect its very much outcome based, like the AFL tribunal.Apparently Kostecki has given his 2c worth on the Mostert incident on his Lucky Dogs podcast, calling Mostert's actions "malicious".

I still can't believe that this was ONLY given a 30 second penalty - especially given that Mostert did the exact same thing to Feeney the previous weekend. Do TWG need to be DQed from an entire race meet, in order to stop their drivers from this "malicious" behaviour?
I suspect they only apply penalties for what happens in the current race - ignoring a pattern of behaviour by the team's drivers, which extends back to 2025.I suspect its very much outcome based, like the AFL tribunal.
IF he had collected another car or god forbid a marshalls post then I reckon thats exactly what would have happened.
I like that question......Interesting trivia I've just come across... Symmons Plains will host its 100th ATCC/Supercars race next weekend. What is the only track to have hosted more ATCC/Supercars races?
A: Wanneroo Raceway.
