Just wondering what we still think of these two now.
First I will have my say on them.

Judd- hate him- His a good player and I still respect his football abilities but he has become very annoying since he left us, and here's why.
On the field he look's as though he could care less about what happens- He was like that when he was with us and it really annoys me.
Team player- No, he is the complete individual type player that want's everthing for himself- remember when he said he would nominate for the pre-season draft if we didn't let him go to Carlton- no loyality, no respect for the club his playing for. Judd in one word- greedy, after the money.
Does he make a good captain- No, Leadership wise he never had it.:thumbsd:
I can say this now that I'm happy his gone.:thumbsu:

Cousins- Still Like- although he is a complete show off and attention seeker, I still like him- He provides more then just a player- His team work is to be admired. Has great leadership and it still shows at Richmond.
If not for him being a kn*b his still a likeable player.:thumbsu:

Like them both. Cousins because he was our boy through and through and Judd because of the way he handled himself on and off the pitch, I have forgiven him for leaving us, he still holds us in high regard.

they're both fantastic players still. I'm not happy at judd with how he left and I'm not happy with the eagles for how cousins left, but they are both still great players.

Ambivalent toward both,

on Judd - Wanted to go back to Victoria, meh! The thing that makes Juddy a legend out of this for me is that HE pushed for a fair trade. For him we got Masten Kennedy and I think Notte too. We won out of this trade for sure. Helped us half rebuild in one year, lets face it Juddy wasnt going to win us a premiership.
Full respect to Judd for helping us out.
ALTHOUGH - the later half of 07 he should NOT have played but he did, and cost us several games:mad:

on Cuz - He lost me with that defiant smirk. Loved him but now really dont care.

Like both. Whilst people could ramble on about loyalty and all that nonsense we wouldnt have won a premiership and come close to winnning two without either of them.

We got three potential guns from Judd leaving which has forced us to rebuild rather than float around the middle of the ladder for a few years, not really contesting for a premiership but really improving at the same time. so I dont really get the hate myself, he doesnt owe you anything.

since its already a thread...

judd: freakish footballer but not a captains a-hole, shafted us and can go to hell.
cousins: freakish footballer and an inspirational leader on the field, also shafted us in other ways but i couldnt care less what players do in their own time so im able to get over his misdemeanors.

BUT.. haven't we dont this enough already

I know they were a big part of the premiership but this thread was about what we think of them now.

Have no ill feelings towards either of them.

Cousins gave his all for the club since day one. Even though his excessive partying was his eventual downfall, you can't argue that when he was on the field, he was always giving 100% for the team. He wasn't a bloke who did things by halves. In work or play.

Juddy is captain cool. You wouldn't turn to Judd to hand out inspirational speeches, but he was more a lead-by-example type of guy. He still gave us 6 brilliant years and led as to that '06 Premiership. Sure, it would have been nice if he stayed on, but you can't say that the time he was here wasn't memorable.

Was actually talking about this on the weekend with a few close mates, these two guys always seem to continued to be brought up in conversation! The reason for this is, they were two champs of the game and for our club.

I have always admired cuz, so have no ill feelings towards him, his effort on the field was always 100%, but like many, disspointed how it all turned out in the end. But think he still one of the best players going around, and enjoy monitoring his progress now with the tigers (those tiger fans love him to death!!)

With the Judd, we should hate/dislike him for walking out on us. C'mon a premiership captain of a club walking out on his team ... just isn't right!
But can't bring myself to dislike him,
enjoy the way he handles himself and playes the game, still have the utter most respect and admiration for his footy, he provided us with some good times and memories, as did benny!

Judd: liked him when he played for us but now i do not like him at all.

Cuz: Was one of my favorite players when he played for us and still is one of my favorite players. It killed me when richmond took him because i never wanted him to play against us, but now i don't really mind. I really hope when he comes back to subi in round 22 he doesnt get booed but he probably will.:(

Judd: Hate. Mercenary. Loyalty is a big factor in how much I like a player which leads to...

Cousins: Like. Still one of my favourite players. Im glad he is back playing and unlike Judd, he was pushed out. Shame it went down like it did. Anyone booing Ben Cousins should really smash their face into a wall come round 22.

Judd: Still the best Eagle I've ever seen easily. Premiership captain...and I can't blame him for going home after 5 years of topshelf service, lots of Perth people move to Melbourne ffs coz they reckon it sucks here. Will always stick up for Juddy. He had no choice but to take the captaincy really, he knew he was the most inspirational player easily, and did it for the good of the team, even though he probably knew he was gonna go home when he accepted.

Cousins: Friendly bloke in real life (most of the time). Just a tool for getting so addicted to hard drugs. Still love my cuzzy.

Judd, hate him. Not for leaving the club, but for the way he did it.

Telling West Coast he wanted to wait until seasons end to renegotiate his contract and in the mean time his manager is spreading the quiet word mid season, to clubs that might have the cash for him, that he is coming home. Deception doesn't sit well with me.

If he had have come out and said he was going home at the end of the year, I would have been disapointed, but grateful for his services. However pretending he was going to stay when he had no intention of doing so I cant cop. Even if he had a quiet word to the powers that be at the club and had the decency to let them know, if he didn't want the whole world to know, would have been better than what he did.

Cousins I kind of just feel sorry for. A great player and leader on the field, off the field just not very bright and couldn't see the road he was travelling down before it was too late.

When I watch them play now, I find myself cheering Cousins on, and hoping Judd does himself a serious injury.

Cousins - Like. Still has heart and doesnt hold a grudge against West Coast for letting him go.

Judd - Hate, hate, hate!! Hate his guts, was shattered when he left. hate the way that he was only after money, no heart. Glad we got rid of him in hindsight, not because he was a bad player, but because he is selfish and is a frontrunner. Good riddance.

Judd - Kinda hate him for leaving It pisses me off when people have no loyalty but we did get a good trade for him.

Cousins - Was my favourite eagles player since i could remember and idolised him growing up (still growing up) every Eagles game I'd have my Guernsey with a Cousins badge on and an Eagles scarf, he was my idol and i really looked up to him and watched how he played and tryed to incorporate some of that into my game, I was pretty pissed and dissapointed when he did those things but It's good to see him breaking the habit (LP :D) and making a comeback at Richmond.

Loved them both when they were here but now? meh with occasional angst. Much of how I feel has to do with the clubs they went to.

Judd - it had to be Carlton, didn't it? The epitome of cash in brown paper bags. Hate him for that.

Cousins - good on the Tigers for taking him. Deserved a second chance just for trash like Hutchy going through his bins.

Cousins will always be an Eagle and IMO was always the better leader/player than Judd. You never leave your club (even in the dark times) just because you want to go home. If that was the case then there would many players at different clubs. Let's face it, he left because he wanted some more success quicker and knew he could get a crap load of money at a VIC club. Lost all respect for him after that. Also playing for the scum of the earth now.

I also feel a bit sorry for Cousins. I in no way endorse his off-field action but thought he was harshly done by the AFL with the ban. Considering he was never caught taking drugs and the fact there are several of players out there on several strikes with no punishment. You also hear about players involved in off-field incidents with no penalty's involved, ie Fev.
