Judd, Cousins- Like or Hate

Judd: liked him when he played for us but now i do not like him at all.

Cuz: Was one of my favorite players when he played for us and still is one of my favorite players. It killed me when richmond took him because i never wanted him to play against us, but now i don't really mind. I really hope when he comes back to subi in round 22 he doesnt get booed but he probably will.

Bet you he doesnt, reason He didn't leave because he wanted to.He was sacked.Still a champ in my eyes as for Judd good riddance...a Captain walking out on a Club?

Yeah.. he love so the club that

- he prefer drugs to the club
- he prefer hanging out with gangsters, bikies than the club
- after receiving many chances before getting sack, he still prefer drugs and hanging out bikies.

The utter truth in the end, he couldn't give a toss about the club.

And how great was that media storm that engulf club. Did it wonders, didn't it! The day time arrest, was truly a great image for the club.

Him getting booed in Round 22? Laughable. What will happen more likely, him getting a standing ovation for being the little hero that he is. He can get away with pretty much anything in Perth. It amazing that he receives more support than any current Eagle.

So yes, I hate him and Judd.

But quite frankly, what I hate more is that these threads still appear here and that Cousins and Judd are still hot topics when they have absolutely nothing to do with the club. I would put good money on both considering the clubs that are at now as ' their club' and have strong connections with them in the future, then with us.

Cuz was weak and let himself down. In doing this he hurt the the club greatly.

Judd is selfish and accepted the captaincy knowing he was on his way. We was to weak to say no. He was a poor leader and only ever a figurehead at the eagles. His behaviour has continued to be selfish.

Of the two, Cuz gave a huge amount to the eagles. Judd only ticked the box but was a champoin player.

The two leaving together, mid career, left us without the usual progression of developing mids. Effectively we have started from scratch. Thus we are smashed in the centre while our mids develop. This eliminates supply to our fowards and imparts massive pressure on our backs. But, we are moving foward - 7-12 wins next year.

Dont get angry, get even.

I would prefer to see Judd get smashed.

Cuz is just sad.

Judd had an unbelievable impact in Perth.

The greatest impact in Eagles history maybe.

He was a major reason for the push for a new stadium.
The way he was playing - he could get 60 -70 thousand paople easily.

Man people used to give him a standing ovation when he just walked on the street.

Because he has not fully recovered from the groin injury - he has not played as well or as explosively - but that could change next year.

Although I was incredibly dissapointed with him going, I am incredibly happy to have Masten, Kennedy and Scooter playing.

Wow what a draft that might turn out to be.

With regards to Cousins.

EAGLES must resign him after his stint at Richmmond.

If I was Eagles president - I would tell him to quit Richmond at the end of the year and re-sign with the Eagles. hey hey

I think it has more to do with the jilted lover syndrome. Its not rational. The guy is a freak, respect his professionalism and demeanor on and off the field, gave us six great years of service, and at the end of the day didn't owe us anything, but I dunno, I just can't stand him now. I keep wishing he does his groin again, or that he never wins a premiership with the Blues. Juvenile? Yes. But ultimately trying to come to terms with being jilted is just not easy.

I feel much the same ................although I can take or leave Juddy because at the end of the day he was at the mercy of his family and by that I mean Rebecca mostly. Twiggy wanted to seek the lime light in Vic and that is understandable but Juddy was our captain and his lack of respect for that position is disappointing.

Cuz is our best performed player. I regard him being the leader of a moderately talented team, showing the way with ruthless effort at training and on match day to lead his comrades into battle. Their confidence was such that they pushed their own ability into orbit to follow their captains lead.

The premiership teams of 92 and 94 had a much greater depth of talent in Jacko, McKenna, Woosha etc, along with the silky skills of Matera, Kemp, Lewis and co.

Yes his initial decision to dabble in illicit drugs and associate with those people was stupid, but once your hooked you aren't capable of being independant, and he only got help when it was too late. Obviously he didn't want to miss out on team success during 05 and 06 because he worked so hard to achieve a premiership. Therefore he refused to acknowledge or treat his drug problem which for his own health was the worse thing possible.

I think the only choice he had control over was health or premiership. Seems he didn't value his health that much, or he severely underestimated how bad his drug addiction would get. I still love cuz and appreciate everything he did in striving for west coast success.

Judd on the other hand... Well I think someone else put it well when he said how he feels when watching both players now. I wish cuz to get 30+ touches and 2 goals per game. I hope Judd gets injured or fails in his quest for a premiership with Carlton.

Judd, hate him. Not for leaving the club, but for the way he did it.

Telling West Coast he wanted to wait until seasons end to renegotiate his contract and in the mean time his manager is spreading the quiet word mid season, to clubs that might have the cash for him, that he is coming home. Deception doesn't sit well with me.

If he had have come out and said he was going home at the end of the year, I would have been disapointed, but grateful for his services. However pretending he was going to stay when he had no intention of doing so I cant cop. Even if he had a quiet word to the powers that be at the club and had the decency to let them know, if he didn't want the whole world to know, would have been better than what he did.

Cousins I kind of just feel sorry for. A great player and leader on the field, off the field just not very bright and couldn't see the road he was travelling down before it was too late.

When I watch them play now, I find myself cheering Cousins on, and hoping Judd does himself a serious injury.

Chris Judd though left a club when needed him most made sure that you got the fairest deal possible which i can say is more than cousins ever thought about your club. honestly cousins knew taking whatever he did and his actions would severely hurt yr club yet he did it anyway and judd had to take the awkward role of captaincy.

i would love to for eagles supports to say in a few years
that thanks to judd and his honesty and intergrit and that he ensured u got Kennedy, Mastern and Notte and that without them u wouldve stayed around the middle mark on the ladder for a few more years

Judd - I don't really feel much of anything for him anymore. I loved him when he played for us because he is a brilliant footballer but he always had the personality of a wet rag.
I'm over the whole 'wanting to go back to Melbourne' thing now. I don't think he was ever happy in Perth, and he's entitled to go where he wants to be I guess. But the way he did it left a bad taste in my mouth. He always intended to go to Visy/Carlton and all the speculation leading up to trade week, about where he would go, was a farce. All the while he maintained his golden-boy image, it made me sick. I would never wish an injury on him but I hope he never experiences any team success at Carlton, I already view him as one of theirs, through and through.

Cousins - He is a deeply flawed individual and yes, he did damage the club's reputation. But in my opinion, he was our greatest player ever and he pulled us over the line more times than I can count. If anyone carried that club, it was him, not Judd (despite what ****head Carlton supporters like Robert Walls like to pretend).
I wish nothing but the best for Cuz. It hurts to see him play for another team now but I find myself cheering his every possession.

Played wonderfully for us & will be considered one of the best WC players ever. Took us to a cup & played some of the best footy ever seen. These days my feelings are just 'meh' towards him.

Fans and members would have been ropable at that trade as at that stage no-one knew how bad he was. I dont even think the club knew how bad he was, they still thought they could handle the situation.

This type of comment really shits me. Did Judd not get a medalion on GF day or something? Did he not get what he stayed for? He got to win a premiership by staying, had he have gone to Carlton after his second year, he would not have got that.

Its a two way thing you see, he stayed because there was something in it for him, not because he was an all round nice guy who thought he could help poor old West Coast to a premiership.

I wonder how Carlton fans would feel about him if he decided he wanted to be traded to Collingwood next season? (Before you all come in and say it cant happen, it is hypothetical.)

Would the deal he got you, because he is such a caring guy he would insist on a fair trade, make you feel better about him leaving your club to play for the enemy?

Oh and if he told you all year he would renegotiate at the end of they year, then you find out his manager told Collingwood in June to get as many high picks as you can because he is coming, would that rub salt into the wound?

As for Cousins, who is the player at Carlton that has busted his guts, week in, week out while you have been at the bottom of the ladder? (I cant think of one but maybe you can). The player who gave everything he had on the training track and in the game, who pulled the others in the team along with him just because of his sheer will and hard work?
