Judd, Cousins- Like or Hate

Cousins - love.

The semantics of why they left, whilst some are unsavoury, I don't really care about, doesn't change their contribution to the team.

Respect.

One day I too hope to reach this enlightened state of being. I fear it may be a long and arduous journey though.

Ok judd is nothing but a judas victorian now he helped us to a premiership but wen the shit hit the fan ( cousins instince ) he just left us, this is why i feel ill towards him overall he was always a star player and its sad he went out the way he did - cousins will always be an eagle his blood will always be blu n gold but wat he did to our club is a little unforgivable i loved him as a player and as the good all benny who would help us win games- but as i said he didn asacly help us .

Hate's too strong a word, but don't like Judd. Shafting the club for cash does not a popular footballer make.

I'll always love Cuz. One of the most naturally skilled players in the game and a pleasure to watch.
He's a goddamn idiot for getting into the drugs, but drug addictions are far too easy to accidentally fall into before you know it. Seen it happen to plenty of good people.

The difference is that one player's exit from WCE & the way he did it was a conscious decision and the other's wasn't.

I wonder how Carlton fans would feel about him if he decided he wanted to be traded to Collingwood next season? (Before you all come in and say it cant happen, it is hypothetical.)

Would the deal he got you, because he is such a caring guy he would insist on a fair trade, make you feel better about him leaving your club to play for the enemy?

Oh and if he told you all year he would renegotiate at the end of they year, then you find out his manager told Collingwood in June to get as many high picks as you can because he is coming, would that rub salt into the wound?

Well if rumours are true then we might face the same situation with Gibbsy soon enough.

When asked if Gibbs wants to go home would I hate him I say that if he sticks around our club while were challenging for a flag and helps us (hopefully) win one and gave his all for the club during that time, if his heart was set on going home then no i wouldn't hate him. However if he says at the end of his next contract 'that's it i'm out the door' without really accomplishing much then i would probably think he's a bit of a dog.

For the record I can't remember Judd ever saying he was going to re-sign at the Eagles all I remember is him saying it will be discussed post-season.

For me the bottom line is that both were great players for our club.

Judd and Cousins were chalk and cheese as personalities.

Judd was more quite and reserved.

For me my lasting impression of Judd was walking across Subiaco oval in his suit the night we lost the final to Collingwood. It was Bill Sutherlands last game involved at the club. All players, coaching staff and the likes were right there on the boundary cheering him off. 30m behind the pack was one Chris Judd who was at the time our captain. I knew at that point he had played his last game.

I don't hate him but I lost some respect for him that evening. He is a gun player though.

Cousins is my all time favourite Eagles player, he made the mistakes and paid the penalty for them.
Do I think we should of sacked him? No way I do but I understand they had to for the good of public relations and how they will be viewed by the public.

Still my favourite player in the AFL and last week went to Melbourne to watch him play.
Do not have one gripe with him at all. Would give anything to have him back and I could not care less what Joe Public thinks of him.
