CARLTON coach Brett Ratten says captain Chris Judd is verging on the best form of his career and is ready to spend more time as a forward.

Judd amazed Carlton supporters with a pack mark from four-deep against Collingwood at the MCG on Sunday during a best-afield performance.

Ratten yesterday revealed it was no fluke - Judd's new-found freedom from groin pain has allowed him to practise the skill during the summer.

And if the match-up is right, the Brownlow medallist may continue to push forward to expose his pesky tagger.

"I think it was probably the best game I have seen him play, and probably not just from his ball-winning ability but to jump and catch the ball," Ratten said yesterday.

"From an all-round performance, he's tackling well and winning the ball.

"But now to see him catch the ball, maybe that scares the opposition a bit more."

Ratten, whose Blues travel to AAMI Stadium to face Adelaide on Saturday, said Judd was "pretty close" to the best form of his career.

"He's not far off it. He will spend most of his time in the midfield, but we have tried to use him forward because he's so creative," Ratten said.

I agree with Ratt's, i think it was the best game he has played in the Navy Blue, i was thinking while watching my downlaoded version of the game that it was the first game it felt Judd bleed for the Navy Blue, to see him take on Maxwell after he hit Robbo was great, he loved the win and you could see the determination in him all game.

I was really happy when i saw him give a bit to Haxwell.

Collingwood supporters must be hanging their heads in further shame having that wannabe as their leader. An overly aggressive sniper who spends regular periods suspended and has limited skill. He couldn't lead a gay conga-line at mardi-gras. Being targetted by Judd was probably his playing career highlight.

Judd is Victorian. He wore the big V, he is home.

He goes in for the ball like a robot crab and picks it up and handballs it off in about 800 milliseconds. Now he has the backup he can get up and chase and help his team out in a turnover. The whole time screaming and pointing at the Carlton kids to be covering the right spots in defence.

Judd made me like the eagles , and now , well now he plays for us and i still get a warm feeling every time i see him play for us .. Suckt in to all my friends and family (eagles supporters) that always used to rub it in about how they had the best player of alltime.... And now they hate me .. Ha .. Its pretty much a miracle..

I hear ya buddy...no words can describe the feelings I have for the great Judd man. His more machine than man. I'm just waiting for someone to accidently tear his face, to reveal his true identity.

Well yeah thats a great picture of Juddy one eyed bluey, but I was expecting a half terminator face and a half normal face to resemble your assumptions and imagination of Judd being more machine than man?
