I doubt he comes top 10 at Melbourne this year. He wouldn’t have come top 10 at Freo anytime in his career thus far. Even his standout season in 2024 he may have snuck into 10th but I’m doubtful.

Fremantle had 3x All Australian squad members in 2023, they finished 1st, 3rd and 4th (Serong, Ryan and Jackson) in our best and fairest. The other two top 5 were Andrew Brayshaw and Hayden Young.

McVee would have been nowhere near our top 5 in 2023. He may have snuck into 10th in place of Frederick.

The 6th - 9th place 2023 fairest and best top 10 were Schultz, Pearce, Switkowski and Cox. Given Schultz was traded for a first round and 2nd round pick implies he’s far better than McVee. Switkowski is simply a better player. Champion data rates him as elite, particularly back then in 2023.

I don’t think McVee comes top 9 in our fairest and best any year in his career so far.

This shows the ignorance rival fans in general have of high-end role players. Unless they're playing for your team, you don't recognise their value (and how much coaches value them in turn). ANB is the perfect case study of this (a very similar player to Switta, and finished ahead of McVee in those same B & Fs). Crows board went from "Does he play ahead of Lachlan Murphy?" to "A+ trade" in 12 months.

Regardless, silly to talk about what McVee has done in a more lockdown role when it's widely reported he's leaving coz he hates that role. Leave that role to someone like Walker, McVee's too talented to be relegated to that role.

Freo fans literally said Jackson was potential only and just a 2nd ruck. Got that wrong. HE was in the AA squad in his first year at the dockers. Mcvee will be no different. Excuse my ignorance but who at the dockers takes your Nick Watsons, Charlie Cameron's, Papley's, etc.? is it Chapman? Worner?

You abused everyone saying how two first rounders would not be the trade and people were dreaming if they thought so. In fact that was pretty much exactly the trade as outside of the two first rounders was future second-round pick (tied to the Dockers) in exchange for Jackson, picks 44 and 67. In fact the pick 47 and 67 jumped up the draft while the future second stayed around its initial position when the picks were taken. Meaning the trade was nearly the exactly the trade you'd abused so many over and in fact way less than the 3 first rounders you were requesting. Not many in bf history have been more wrong than you were yet you go on about others getting it wrong. No one said Griff Logue was worth a first rounder on his own either. You abused me a ton so stop the rubbish retell of events. You can object all you like.
Go find the Griffin Logue stuff and show me a post saying Logue was worth a first pick on his own. At worst you'll be quoting a couple of posts (that I missed) and that means nothing.

You were massively wrong on the LJ trade so stop rewriting history. You abused others multiple times saying a top 5 and a future first rounder or three first rounders was the minimum required and I was actually advocating for fairly close to the exact trade that happened in reality. I actually advocated for two firsts and what we got for Lobb early in the year. In fact that was over what the actual trade was in reality and you abused that suggestion at the time as being way off.

No pick 47 (ended up being closer to 40) is not much less than a second rounder.

It used to be Walker before he got injured and then didn't come back into the team. I assume he resumes that role. Since then, it's been Chapman or sometimes Ryan depending on the type - Ryan more the Elliot types who kill you with marking. Worner and Banfield aren't athletic enough to keep up with the real X-Factor types (neither is Ryan tbh but he's got nous). Chapman was gonna take Kozzy but was a late out and...well you saw how that one worked out.

Jackson was potentially good, he became great in 2023 evidence by his AA squad selection. He’s still not our best player, but may shake that tree in 2026 if he can surpass Serong, Brayshaw and Young.

McVee doesn’t have Jackson’s potential. Mature age rookie pick who’s been reasonable without ever being great.

He may make the bottom end of our best and fairest top 10, provided he remains injury free and improves compared to his time at Melbourne.

He isn’t passing Serong, Brayshaw, Young, Jackson, Bolton, Clark, Treacy, Cox, Reid provided they remain injury free.

Ryan, Pearce, Darcy, Switkowski won’t be easy to surpass either as long as age / injury doesn’t impact them.

He’ll is equal with similar age players like Johnson, Erasmus, Chapman in their potential to step up into that top 10.

He’s got a better reputation / CV than Walker, Worner, Banfield, Wagner though the latter was very good this season.
