Right now, Murphy. Seems to be able to do it all, inside, outside, speed, composure, and for mine edges Judd in disposal skills.

Watching Judd pull the ball from that Richmond player's hands last night made my pants get a lot tighter.

I think right now, Murphy is our #1, because he has more strings to his bow.

That said, Judd is an all-timer, and when fully fit (which he clearly was not last night) he is still the contested ball KING of the league and an absolute beast.

Things are going OK when Judd is your #2. :)

Goodes is good but our Betts is better.

Murphy's had a better year and a bit but don't discount Judd just yet. He's looking leaner and once he works his way into a bit of form, he's every chance to get back his mantle of best midfielder in the competition.

Murphy is, he gets the same if not more of the ball, uses it better, runs through the lines more and kicks goals.

Judy does more of the hard work but does turn it over a little too often.

The difference is slight but Murph will start to pull away over the next 18 months.

I may be blinded by man-love but I think Judd was one of our best last night. He turned it over 2 or 3 times and he didn't do anything flashy but he was solid as a rock when he was needed and when he was near the ball you felt instantly more secure. Great leader and amazing player:thumbsu:

Judd is still our number 1 but Murphy could take over this season. I'm just so happy we don't have to choose and can have both of these guns playing for us :)

Judd's still the general and he's taught Murph well:)
The strength in Judd's hips to get out of some impossible situations is amazing, along with his lightning hands.
Wont be too long before Murph will take over though.
Brownlow in sights for Smurph this year IMO.

Judd - Beast Mode
Murphy - Mr Consistent

Although that probably sounds like I'm underselling Murph, because he can tear teams apart.

But I still feel Judd is warming up and with his size and power and that ability to just impose himself, I'll go with him...for now.

I have to admit though, Judd looked pretty slow on Thurs night. Rusty for the first game of the regular season or has he lost it? I know it's been years since he had the burst speed he had at the Eagles but the way he moved against the Tigers I'd be surprised if he could outrun McLean.

murphy for mine. i would back murph for a shot on goal, and while judd's disposal looked better for last night's game than it did for many others last year i'm not convinced.
i think we're all aware of judd's limited pre-season. might be up to full speed in a couple of weeks.

Murph, great spread, superior gut running, clean disposal, goal kicking mid, really classy.

Judd= undisputed contested beast.

Do not want to separate the two but murph for me, but only just.

Gibbs! I am an enormous fan. He will be all-australian this year, unless he gets injured. But I voted Judd on the basis that he has the harder job, and does it brilliantly. Best hardball get and clearance player in the game, and that is a very underrated talent.
