the man gets preferential treatments because he goes for the ball. umpires arent dumb, they see taggers hanging off the playmakers like judd and reward them for going for the footy. its a lot easier to make a tackle than it is to win the footy

The push started with the chest and newman slipped into it. To give a free kick against Judd would of been soft in that situation. The holding the ball, while it was inconsistant with Raines (from memory later on) doing a lovely triple spin before dishing it off alla Judd, not paid it was there as he took a bloody long time to get it off.

But if you want some bad umpiring you should of been at the Saints game last night. It was horrible. The Sydney folk around me were doing their block. It still amazes me how many players get pinged for push in the back between the 50m arcs but then once it is in the 50m arc the rule's definition changes. Also the pushes in the back and chopping of arms that are paid are generally to all players other than the superstar forwards.

So far this week Fev, Hall, Richo and Kosi were dudded out of some blatant free kicks!
