Toast JUDDFevGoal - well done

This kind of comment suggests that we keep quiet and trust that our leaders know best. This type of submission is how Nazi Germany got as far as it did. If the club knows more than they are letting on then they should share the information with its members. It is every members right and responsibility to question our leadership.

I've written this so many times I feel my brain is going to explode.

What IF what happened is further humiliating to Fevola? To him as a person and to the trade itself?
What if it implicates others?
They don't need to tell us anything. They said they would sack him after one more stuff up. He stuffed up. End of story.

I'd keep Nazi comparisons out of it...

Firstly, I dont think you are simply agreeing with the club, as you make it clear that you think there is a lot more going on than meets the eye, so how do you agree with them if you dont know what is going on? You must be supporting them blindy. If you are supporting them blindly then you are clearly not thinking for yourself. Strange logic indeed. I can respect people who support the decission of the club but I certainly dont respect followers who dont think for themselves. I truely respect the words of JUDDfevGoal as posted.

I, like the club, believe that Fev should be up for trade (Is that clearer for you ;))

I actually have numerous reasons for thinking this - mostly to do with my belief in the role of Discipline in a successful club (which I wll not elaborate on again unless you insist)

I would however put Fev up for trade based on the following questions alone (which I posted well before he was put up for trade - I will let you research that for yourself). Feel free to answer them

Given that the club did not come out and defend his Brownlow behaviour - if he stays he would have to be on his final chance YES/NO

Would you consider trading an investment that had a real possibility of becoming worthless ie Had a habit of mucking up and would be lost if it mucked up again YES/NO

ps Have the club done anything more than this

Everything that was on the footy show was fine. Im older than Fev and still do heaps worse. I think the club could hush up/fine&suspension deal with heaps worse than was shown. Though maybe something happened that made some relationships in the club untenable.
I was thinking with McLean in we were a shot at a flag. To do something that means he is going, it has to be worse than anyone is letting on. I think something happened that means someone has to go. Untenable situation. Someones head on a platter. Fev or ???

I'll back Swanns leadership any day - He is leading our club well and is strong enough to drag Ratts and Sticks along with him.
Sticks couldn't make a decision to save himself - Remember the Smorgan saga. Sticks jumping sides left right and centre.

I'm pretty sure it goes like this - Sticks you smile as the Blues figure head and say as little as possible to get your self in trouble, follow my lead and I'll run the entire show.
Dick hired the best not just the best available. Thanks again Dick RIP.
If Swann says he's no good for the future and the culture of the club then so be it.

By the way, just released on the Herald Sun site.

Fev is number 10 in Sheahan's top 50. Judd at 5. Murph and Gibbs, 19 and 43 respectively.

I guess someone thinks Fev had a great season...

Fev didn't do anything illegal! He played brilliantly all year. He won the Colman medal, was made all Australian and has just hit Sheahans top ten. The clubs assesment of stuffing up is want I (and what seems to be most of the supporters of the club) are arguing is disproportionate to what he did (with the help of the footy show's exploitation). Your what if's are certainly are not the end of the story, they are mearly just a way for you to feel good about yourself for blindly supporting the club.

ps What if he did do something illegal but the person is not pressing charges (who knows?)

pps the bold should have been directed to blues4eva, sorry

Seriously i want to hear answers from the club as to why this has happened but i'm afraid we won't know until after trade week because clubs hearing things may decrease his value and turn interested clubs away from him meaning he stays with us. Everyone is right though we deserve to hear wat has happened, and something serious must really have happened if it has lead to this outcome. Still i pray to god that nothing happens next week and they are forced to keep him regardless of misdeamenours and he earns back respect. Maybe it is a smokescreen, a wake up call, a act to bluff the media tht we are taking a tough stance, but i simply feel we deserve to hear things said. There is so much to this story that it can't all simply be discussed, i just hope nothing too serious has occurred and tht the players still want him there because on the field his attitude and his respect for his mates has been first class of late.

How do you know?

The point is, he's a star. I'm sure most of us would prefer he stays a Blue because of that.

You accuse "us" of blindly following the club? How about not just following the player and showing TRUST in the admin?
After 10 years of this do you think they'd just throw him out the door willy nilly?

Firstly, I dont think what he did at the Brownlow was that bad. He did nothing illegal and hurt nobody. I think Channel 9 are just as responsible as he is for recording it and playing it on national television.

Secondly I think his on field discipline has been wonderful this year. He won the Colman medal and has been a brilliant player for our team. He came 4th in the clubs best and fairest and was in the top 20 for the Brownlow. So when it comes down to it I find the whole argument of Fevs discipline bewildering. And I do not think Fev is worthless or has a chance of becoming worthless at all.

I think its all just media hype because when you look at the facts of how the guy has behaved on field (and on field durin the season) his performance has been outstanding.

Sorry Five, are you talking to me? Happy to answer any questions you want!

Great post. Particularly the bit about standing by the club. He could've commanded a HUGE salary almost anywhere but always signed on with the Blues.

Almost makes me feel guilty.. almost :D

Unless the club has the courage and decency to reveal what 'really' happened to force their hand into trading Fev, a lot of us are still going to be angry and bitter and questioning the decision.

Well on the evidence that all of us know, including yourself, I do think the club is making a massive mistake, and I am not going to just sit around and hope that they do the right thing. I am going to stand up at the rally on Sunday with all of the Fevfaithful and try to show them that I disagree.
What if you are wrong? What if they are bowing to media pressure? What if Greg Swann has an ego problem and Fev offended him so he wants him out? You can throw what if's around all day and no one is the wiser. all you can do is make decisions based on the facts that are presented, and on the facts that are presented, I believe our club is making a massive mistake. I believe that Fev is fantastic for our club and I dont believe he has done anything worthy of being traded. He has played like a superstar. Other players have broken the law and have been kept at clubs. Its time to have some perspective.

I will try again

YES/NO - would he now be on a final warning

YES/NO - could someone on a final warning be sacked if they mucked up again - thus being of no value if sacked

ps You had better stay away from this type of thread

The point I was trying to make is that I dont think what he did was enough to satisfy a final warning.

my questions for you are you being DOGMATIC - YES/NO

Has Fev had an amazing season at the CFC this year YES-NO

The club aren't trying to trade him after the things he's done on field. I can see why people are getting furious, but I think Fevola has had too many chances.
I dont think everything he did was bad, the singing, there's nothing wrong with that,
and yes, i want to know why the footy show continued taping the show.
The board seem to have decided that enough is enough and we are now putting him up for trade.
I barrack for the Carlton football club and are with them through thick and thin, even if i dont agree with some things they do, they know better than me and i trust their decision.
We'll survive without Fevola, if he does end up getting traded, even if it does mean missing the finals next year,
yes i know we've been through 7 bad years and we're on the rise, but if it's best for the club in the long term, then i support them 100%.
I think what Ratten said was right when he said: If you don't want to do it the Carlton way, you don't have to - you won't be a part of Carlton'.

I dont think Fev as had too many chances. I think he has played an unbelieveable year of football and has performed better that Ratten. Getting rid of him will be a massive mistake. And the Carlton way is not always as clean cut as you may want it to be!

I really do appreciate your loyalty to Fev but I do not think you would find anyone that really agreed with this

I tried to adopt someone's argument that they could defend him on the grounds 'that he only got drunk at a party' but I didn't really believe that. The reason I would have been happy for them to defend him is that he would not have been on a final warning and therefore not such a risk and thus not an attractive (to CFC) trade option

Try to leave the aliens out of it if you wish to taken seriously :)

Does Ratten's comment apply to the fans aswell, because as a fan I don't want to see Fevola traded, does that mean I am no longer a part of Carlton?

Im not saying Fev hasnt had a great year of football at all, he has. In my opinion i think he has, but if the club want to trade him, theres not much we can do to change their minds. I think the club knows that supporters love Fev, but the club has given him too many chances, on his last contract they had the one more stuff up and you're gone, but I believe the club trusted him enough to not put that on his new contract and i think he broke that trust. That is my opinion and I believe everyone has a different opinion on this issue.

Too many chances???? the problem is that apart from his sooky episodes on the field, the remainder of stuff ups were in his private life, which quite frankly is none of our business, and apart from peeing in public, (which 90% of men do anyway) weren't even illegal!! No wonder he wouldn't sign to the the last chance clause of his newest contract, he new what a bunch of wowsers were monitoring his behaviour.
