Judd''s kicking has been a bit of a worry, some shockers on the weekend, last season and in practice games. His kicking has been really poor especially running at top pace. Just a technical problem IMO. Looks to be holding the ball wrong, needs the have the point in more of a downward direction. Needs to slow his last few steps and get more balanced and kick through the ball more. It's nice a player getting a lot of the ball but using it well is just as important, get it right Juddy.

Blasphemy!

But really, he does shank quite a few but he more than makes up for it with clearances, leadership, all round greatness.

No doubt in my mind that the very same thought is burning in Juddy's mind. However he did have to change how he runs after his OP troubles, so it will take time for him to find a style that isn't as forced as it looks now.

I think his kicking can improve, there are problems in his technique like the way he holds the ball, poor follow through and to a lesser extend getting settled before he kicks. We have had many players like Walker, Russell and Simpson dramatically improve their kicking, I am sure he can become the next. He can start by hitting the ball more towards it's point than hitting the guts of it and kicking wobblers.

I don't think it'll take much to get his kicking right. Doesn't matter how good you are, you can always be better and he's much more of a weapon when he's hitting targets and not kicking floaters that hit the ground.

I think he'll get it right, there is no debate, he is having some problems with his kicking, even the best kicks have problems at times with it. There are obvious flaws in his technique, that can happen to any one.

Delist him then.

Maybe if he didn't have three blokes hanging off him every time he kicks it he'd look a bit better.

Having McLean back in the team will mean he will be running free a bit more.[/quote]

No it won't.

Nice one moron. Having McLean at the bottom of the pack to win the hard ball (remember he took your rabble apart with 20 handballs) means Judd will be on his feet and running past to receive rather than bending over to pick the ball up and jumped on by opposition players.

The fact that he shanks a few kicks cant be denied. He does it consistently.
The rest of his game is awesome though!

Moron? Haha.

Judd will still be the number 1 'in and under' player at Carlton, regardless of whether McLean plays or not.

For some reason everyone at Carlton is putting McLean up on a pedastal and saying that he is the saviour of Chris Judd.

Judd will be tagged as usual, therefore his number of handball receives will stay the same. It is much easier to tag a player when they are running past for handballs. You can't tag someone who goes in and gets the ball. Next minute you will be saying the amount of marks he takes around the ground will increase because McLean will be kicking it to him.

WHY?
...and yes, i think McLean might kick a couple to Juddy this Monday, certainly a fair chance of that occuring.
You FAIL:thumbsd:

Judd is arguably our only player who wins the ball and goes straight up the guts with a long kick to the goal square.

The rest go wide.

More of that thanks.

Exactly. While he's not the best technical kick, his possessions are gold for that reason.

How did Ling go tagging a free running Judd last year with Hadley doing the crash and bash work?

WC plus Judd and Cousins were at their absolute best with Braun, Fletcher and Kerr winning the ball inside.

You can't tag all of them.

Out of Mclean, Judd, Murphy, Gibbs, Simmo, Scotland at least one will have a blinder without us losing momentum when one leaves the ground.

Just keep doing what you're doing Juddy, I'm sure he's always working at getting the best out of himself.

Well have you ever noticed that Judd gets tagged every week yet he still manages to win a heap of contested possessions. He rarely takes over 3 marks a game either, because he rarely is in open space on his own.

It is easier for a tagger to follow a player when he is out in the open rather than through traffic, because there are other players in the way, putting blocks on.

THAT'S WHY.

No, that's the role Ratten has given McLean.

For some reason everyone at Carlton is putting McLean up on a pedastal and saying that he is the saviour of Chris Judd.

Probably the same reason Melbourne put him up on a pedestal and said he was the next captain of the club. He's an excellent player.

Judd will be tagged as usual, therefore his number of handball receives will stay the same.

No, he will not be doing the in and under work and will instead be receiving handballs from McLean.

It is much easier to tag a player when they are running past for handballs.

 So it's harder to stay on a bloke who is standing still or on the ground than it is to keep up with a fit, fast running machine like Judd?

You can't tag someone who goes in and gets the ball.

FMD.

Next minute you will be saying the amount of marks he takes around the ground will increase because McLean will be kicking it to him.

As I said, moron!

Please enlighten me on my contradiction?

I am confused by your retort.

SinCity...do you honestly think that Judd will not be getting any contested possessions simply because McLean is playing? What a stupid thing to think. The bloke is the master of clearances.

If I were a coach, I definitely know who'd I'd rather go in and get the ball, and that would be my number 1 ball winner (i.e Judd).
