Because they are both predominantly dark colours, so having one team in something that isn't a dark colour makes it a much better spectacle as the players from each team can easily be differentiated from each other.

Pretty straightforward.

I get it, but what we are saying now is that it is not just about clash, it is about coming up with two sets of colours that anti-clash.

Where does it stop then??

I really do think if the Bombers worse black shorts and Freo white (or vice versa (white and purple) if really required), then the viewing audience would have survived the ordeal...

Don't think we're gonna wear white shorts at our home game.

I thought the Freo vs Bombers game was a great spectacle and there's nothing wrong with Essendon's red get-up.

Our special stadium jumper, on the other hand, is an abomination.

They occasionally get it right with the big 4 and it looks wonderful but then revert back to the usual shit the next time. With all 4 teams having great clash/away kits, it shouldn't be so much of an issue.

Richmond vs Collingwood last year saw Collingwood in their clash. A baby step in the right direction.

This year they have followed up with the Carlton game, great to see. Particularly as the white with black stripes is their traditional guernsey anyway!

Thoughts on Carlton’s clash guernsey aside, the AFL clash guernsey policy is a absolute farce.
