Jumper clash fails

It’s always a problem when shorts don’t match jumpers. GWS for example. Hawthorn’s yellow jumper with brown shorts causes similar problems. So did North before they switched to a blue home jumper.
It's never been a problem.
There are 2 ways around it - either the away team wears neither colour, or when necessary the home team puts on shorts that match the jumper.
Either Carlton wear red so Geelong can wear white and navy, or Geelong wear white shorts so Carlton can wear all-navy.

Given many clubs get way fewer opportunities than others (looking at Geelong, for one) to wear their home jumper - purely by how it is, no blame here - if changing a pair of shorts means both teams can wear home jumpers then bloody do it.

Note the words "Home Jumper"

Geelong are currently the only club that doesn't actually need an away or clash jumper. Shorts should match the jumper where possible.

Where necessary* :P
Nothing wrong with them wearing navy shorts - home or away - against eg Gold Coast.

Oh of course. Sydney and Gold Coast are the only two examples where Geelong should wear their precious blue shorts.

Because Collingwood's kit is mainly black, as evidenced by their opposition today wearing mainly white with no clash issues at all.

Not talking about Saints who have white in there jumper. Carlton,Essendon & Tiges have no white. Pies should never wear black shorts against these teams

They should always wear black shorts against these teams, leaving them to wear white, red and yellow kits respectively. With white, red and yellow shorts if they want.

Actually Collingwood have worn their white jumper with white shorts at home against those teams before.

But the simple fact Geelong fans seem to miss is the issue isnt as simple as white shorts at home, it’s wearing white shorts when you wear a white jumper! Geelong wearing dark shorts with their home jumper against teams with dark jumpers forcing them to wear white shorts is what causes the clash.

Because Geelongs kit is mixed, it’s not fixed but made worse if the opposition then wear their white jumper to match their white shorts.

Despite it being the greatest looking kit in football, Collingwood doesn’t wear their white jumper with black shorts!

Why are west coast wearing white shorts?
Because if we wore yellow shorts I literally would've stormed the AFL Michael Douglas style.

Seriously though - How are the white shorts any problem here? There was no real clash with our normal jumper if you put it through the lens of the bad clashes in the AFL. Yet we wore the clash anyway for better contrast and the white is not a colour on the Lions jumper so it doesn't create a problem. Not sure of your point here?

Really, with such a clear differential between the jumpers, we could wear royal shorts with he yellow.

My bad if my memory fails me on last season however we have been most consistent over past 5-8 seasons wearing white on home games to avoid clashes. We even let Freo wear there home jumper & shorts a couple seasons ago & we wore white!

You 'let' us wear our home jumper? You have a white jumper, what colour did you expect us to wear?

Yeah.

I feel completely uncomfortable helping out our cross-hub rivals here but Freo are literally THE best club in the AFL dealing with clashes. It's a complete non-issue with their jumper combo and how they deploy them.

Does anyone know where mocks that were done by someone on bigfooty of Hawthorn in home/gold etc are? Might be worth revisiting, I thought they looked good.
Like all change, it may be jarring at first but thankfully we have bridges :P

.....last year was just petty whinging because the game was held at the MCG instead of locking 70,000 people out?

I think the entire season was pretty much them having a sook about not being able to play 11 games at Kardinia.

Which, I understand - it's their home ground and they are the only Victorian club that enjoys that privilege. But they also draw massive crowds against teams like Collingwood and Hawthorn and they know that, they also know that the AFL deliberately fixtures those games at the MCG in a normal season for that very reason and have done so since the early 2000s that I remember.

ESPECIALLY FINALS.

Footy jumper board?

Also Google images wouldn't be a bad place to look. You'll find images of WCE in Peril with gold shorts and their blue jumper with gold shorts as well

Yeah I did a search, but no luck. Depending who posted it the host site may not have it anymore.

Fantastic clash jumper by St Kilda. And the AFL have even managed to tell them to wear it. Amazing.
I think as a club St Kilda have had the best clash gurnesys and are lucky to have a wide range of designs to use.

I would not care if the club decided to use a white Guernsey,
