jumper progress

The last I heard was that people were emailing the club requesting we go back to the navy and gold wings jumper design (circa 95-99).

Anyone know what the progress is because I'm not quite understanding why they think the current home jumper is better?

The current home jumper is crap. They need to go back to something old school, like the jumpers that they had just before the crappy Judge era started.

There's three problems with the away jumper:

1. It's royal blue. Navy and gold loks far better than royal and gold.
2. From a marketing perspective we need a clash jumper. The royal blue jumper is perfect because the only team it has a potential clash with is the Kangaroos. That means navy and gold should be our regular jumper.
3. it's royal blue.

Okay than keep it as the away jumper, butall this talk of a navy home jumper, for what? Why dont they just bring back that old red and orangey away jumper, that was COOL .

I thought that would be rather obvious:

1. The design of the current one doesn't look near as good as the design with wings.
2. Navy looks better than royal. Period.

I see where your coming from, what was your opinion of the heritage jumper we wore last year. Are you after something like that?

1. it's yellow.
2. It's got royal in it.
3. No.

If royal was a better looking colour than navy then our clothing stores would be full of royal rather than navy. But since royal is ugly and navy isn't, our shops are full of navy clothing.

Sorry forgive my ignorance but what is the jumper with wings on it? I thought your talking about the one we had before the current home one. I dont remember wings? And also I was wondering, why did they ever changed the jumper or the logo?

The wings are the yellow bits on the current away jumper (that's why those bits are there - like an eagle's wings)

I actually like the current home jumper, but as I have said many times before it should be our away jumper, and like Bunsen says the navy one should be our home jumper

1. To get dibs on navy blue and yellow and make sure no other team could claim it. Navy and gold as well as royal and gold pretty much belong to us.
2. To increase marketing dollars by having alternative strips.

I originally thought they positioned themselves well they moved into the navy and gold wings design and assumed they'd keep that jumper for a long time. But then the decided to claim more colours (ochre) and move onto the ill-fated dog's breakfast/rainbow paddle-pop design. Part of that was to try and attract as many non Perth residents to support the Eagles.

It certainly looks better than the one we had circa Judge (the one with 4 feather like things at the back), but I'm just not convinced that bronze is the go.

Upon close inspection, the browny/bronze bit would look stupid in yellow. I'm happy with this logo.

Because royal blue is ugly. Predominant yellow with royal blue is also ugly. And having eagles written across the front also looks dodgy. The current away jumper is beter than those. But at the end of the day, navy>royal.

I agree with everything you say on this issue BB.

I prefer the Navy Blue over the royal blue as in my eyes, it seems to make the players look stronger in Navy Blue. I don't know why, but they seem bigger in the navy blue.

Thats what it should be.

IMO we should have three jumpers. home jumper the above colour scheme with the new logo, current away jumper, and the older yeller peril (perhaps with the new logo?) as a heritage/clash jumper.

Simple, unified designs all three. I really don't like the current home jumper, its just a mucky swirl of colours- nifty design, but far too complex for a football jumper.

I've always liked the BGC jumper from about 5 pre-seasons back. Was simple and striking.

I actually like the current home jumper. I think it looks quite good and dont see a problem with it at all.
