Hehe international attraction my penguin. I would say both Disneyworld in HK and / or Shanghai would attract people globally who like shopping and whirly things, far more than freezing your goolies on a ferris wheel or shopping in a windswept bay area.
Though I know of people who travel to Crown regularly from China and Malaysia - to launder money. Though they like the nudey bars also.

A giant $40 million ferris wheel based on the London Eye will be built at Melbourne's Docklands precinct as part of a new $1 billion development.

Premier Steve Bracks announced the winning bidder for the ambitious project today, saying mixed use entertainment and retail development would become a major international attraction for Melbourne.

"Plans include a $100 million of world-class public entertainment area, including a giant $40 million ferris wheel which is expected to attract one million visitors in its first year of operation," Mr Bracks said.

The project will be completed by Lewing Developments.

That was one version.

Some others thought each precinct could have an architechtural flavour of european countries - Italy Greece etc.

Might have been a good idea but there was a huge stink that we would allow 'our' architechture to be a poor copy of europen countries.

Funny how its seems to be OK to have a poor imitation of the USA - complete with ferris wheels and theme parks.
