I noted with great interest that Davies is on the injury list as being unavailable indefinitely due to a back injury. Is this really the case or is he on the way out? It would seem that he will not get the opportunity to prove himself good enough to stay on the playing list at the end of this season. If anyone can confirm that Davies has a serious back injury would be greatly appreciated.

the club would not falsely put someone on the injured list-not in a million years.

the problem with davies is that he just doent seem to show enough on a regular basis. he has all the skills to become a freak player but just isnt committed enough. at stages he shows heaps but he just cant seem to keep it going for extended periods of time. he then goes and does something really stupid like get suspended for ages in the vfl. not what we need.

on his day davies is a very good player. i hope we can put him in the team for the last few rounds of the season and give him an ultimatum. either you do something special consistently or you will be shown the door. i hope he gets traded for somehting, probably a pick from a club needing a sall forward eg a west coast. but i doubt clubs will be willing to do this as his trade value is severely down at the moment. probably just a delisting.

and no, the back injury is not false. injured it in one of his first games back for the bullants.

injury list is:
davies (back)-2-3 weeks
hartlett (hammy)-3 weeks
fisher (shoulder)-5 weeks

reality is, all three of these players could make our 22. davies has skills but doesnt show enough. i think he is gone at the end of the year. harts is really unlucky. was magnificent until injury, so close to senior selection. really feel for the kid-ha loads of talent but is very injury prone. will be a player either back or forward. i suspect we will use him at both ends, but up forward as a last resort. similar scenario to leppitsch in brisbane. fisher, i cant speak highly enough of. great player who is just so unlucky with injuries. latest one a real bummer as he was looking dangerous. hope he comes back quickly, but not too quickly-our forward structure looks so much better with him roaming the flanks and pockets.

was davies named the bullants best player in the twos on the weekend or is that a different davies?

AFAIK he was listed as injured before he ever finished serving his suspension. I don't think he ever returned to playing for the Bullants. No idea how he injured himself.

I don't know that i would call him injury prone just yet, did his knee in his first year and since coming back from that has had the old knee induced hamstring tightness due to the graft taken from his hammy so really not unexpected, just hope it doesn't happen again because he will be a very important player for Carlton going forward both in defence and up forward when needed. Justin Davies is probably one of the most gifted and skilled players on our list but unfortunately he has wasted that talent whether or not he can turn it around before he is delisted is the question, i really hope he does turn it around
as it would be a waste to delist him at his age and with his talent which could be very valuable to our club if he puts it all together, great overhead for his size and really could easily turn into a Russell Robertson type player with some hard work and that is no joke he has enormous ability:thumbsu:

justin davies=brain freeze

sometimes he is so determined and hard at the ball like in the second quarter of the wizard cup final and sometimes he is off with the fairies. there is never a middle ground with justin.
