Only player worth his salt in that bunch is Rich.

You clearly aren't worth having this discussion with.

Anyone who doesn't see at the very least Redden, Banfield, Leuenberger, Clark and Rockliff as talented young players is either painfully uninformed or wilfully ignoring the obvious for the sake of an agenda.

If it is the former, try and watch some more footy. If it's the latter, see you on Bay13.

OK not worth their salt my be a tad over the top and as to an agenda ........ well I can't think of one.:D

The reason I questioned your objectivity is that you think these guys will help get you into the 8 next season. Trust me, being an Eagles fan over rating your youngsters is quite easy to do.;)

Allow me to make a point:

Redden - S Selwood
Leuenburger - Naitanui
Rockliff - Masten / Shuey
Banfield - Sheppard
Clark - Kennedy

Now truthfully are any of these Lions players that much better than the Eagles players listed?

Not saying these guy don't have talent or a bright future but to think either side is top 8 material next season is a very long stretch.

Rockliff and Clark would both easily be West Coast's best youngster.

Clark?

The Clark who just had a pretty poor year but kicked a couple of goals when Fev sat out late in the season?

I'd suggest Josh Kennedy at the Eagles had a better overall season thanks.:thumbsu:

You think the Lions would trade Clark for say ..... Naitanui?;)

Rockliff?

Shuey and Sheppard would be his equal at this stage, Shuey will be something special if he can stop getting crook and injured.

I don't think they would. Clark was the second best ruckman in the comp last year.

Also, fair point on Shuey. But Rockliff has him for exposed form at this stage, even if Shuey has more potential.

Where did I say that?

Reported that he is top of the dogs want list. Will the picks we receive from harbrow be enough?

You will receive an end of 1st round pick at the very least for Harbrow & in my opinion you would be out of your mind to trade that for Sherman. Surely you guys would be better off keeping that pick to use in later drafts and not this years.
The Dogs would be better off going after Tambling. He could play the same role as Harbrow. Dogs & Tigers supporters - How would Everitt for Tambling sound? It may require some tinkering of later draft picks too.

I still think brisbane would have to pay some of his salary though. Like sherman. Good player.

You could probably just renegotiate Sherman's contract and spread the 800k over 3 years instead of 2. Sherman is keen on the move, so would probably be willing.

Not overly keen on Everit - softer than Tambling.
We definitely wouldn't be keen on your proposed swap.
Tambling believe it or not will fetch a higher price than that.
That's if he goes. Until I hear it from the horses mouth it's all just BS.

Oooooooooops.

May have been AXLE who posted that.:D

Re: Justin Sherman
Good edit BACCS.

Risha did win our B&F but most of our better players were out injured. Like Mcphee won Essendons' B&F in 04? but there was about 10 other players who were better than him. I never really rated Brennan and i never called him a spud. He's one of the most inconsistent midfielders in the league but we should get a decent pick for him.

Our list can easily get us into the top 8 if injuries go our way. We're no different to Adelaides' list.

No they wouldn't, being small and indigenous is where the comparisons end.

Hopefully Mark Stevens is correct and we are into Sherman in a big way. He fits our needs perfectly.

Would there be any interest in a trade for Everitt(plus a third rounder) for the Lions?

We'll be leaning more towards the 20-30 pick than a player as salary cap is our major issue atm. Everitt will fill a need in terms our KPD stocks. But looks like we are loading up on picks through Riska, Brennan. I would say Sherman would be traded for a pick as well.

Sherman would certainly fit our needs and if pick was wanted would be a 3 way deal trading out Eveirtt/Stack/Hill for a pick that suits Lions. It would however be dependant on Lions taking up some of contract as Dogs certainly wouldn't be paying him 400K a season as that is only slightly below what Griffen gets.

It is a Sherman initiated trade. I believe the suitors could renegotiate his contract with him. More like 800-900k for 3 years or something similar.

Would be a terrible outcome for us if we agree to pay a part of his contract to move him along. He has pace which we are very much in need of, but have to respect his decision for a fresh start.

Hope we don't throw in a freebie pay check as well.

Chances are Brisbane will pay the club who trades for him the 200k they backended in his 3 year contracted, would be equitable and more teams likely to pay him 300k a year.

I think the Lions would only be after a pick in return to help their salary cap problems

LOL Everitt is not softer then Tambling.

I would hate to lose Everitt but I think we might, Hill to West coast for a 2nd/3rd rounder, then that pick to Brisbane should get the deal done.

I think Hill would suit Subi and he has a lot of talent just needs some confidence and needs a good coach to get his attitude right, he could be anything really.

I think we must try to get Sherman at all costs, does anyone else think he could sort of be like an Eagleton replacement?
