I have posted this before but how good a pick was Kade Simpson at pick 45 in 2002 draft. Small, light but just an absolute footballer.

Could only listen to the game on the radio (ABC) and they had him BOG (some had Judd).

Again - who made this pick ? O'Sullivan, Hughes or guy before him ??

Simpson is a real leader at our football club, he just does those 1%'s when we need them, his such a hard runner chasers everything, fights against the odds and has an eye for goal as shown the last quarter.

One of my favourite players:thumbsu:

i think it was hughes that got him?

For mine he's a better player than number 2 pick Andrew Walker.

Both two of my favourites (with Walker being numero uno) but to date, Simpson has done more than Walker. However, he's also got a few years on Walker and Walker has been crueled by injury. Was hitting a rich vein of form before his shoulder injury against the Hawks in round 12 last year, and hopefully he gets back and plays the last half dozen games this year, before going on to have a ripper 08. :thumbsu:

simpson worries me. inconsistent within a game. One minute running into trouble and getting done holding it, the next kicking the match winner. I love him but can be VERY frustrating

The opposition knows he has absolutely no left foot and that he'll always swing onto his right, which does make him very predictable.

:D someone's had a few too many... but you are right. He ALWAYS goes to his left, and its so obivous, he should trust his right foot more his actually not that bad with it.

BUT, still a gun:thumbsu:

It's great to have another traditional winger ala Scott Camporeale. So many clubs lack proper wingers, Saints in particular. When they're on, they're 80 meter players. :thumbsu:

Sorry but every time Kade takes on the defence I have a heart attack and he quite regularly gets taken down, I think it happened 3 times in the first quarter yesterday:(. He's a very hardworking player with a lot of upside and I'm not trying to bag him or run him into the ground, but I just wish he'd play to his limitations and not try to charge through a pack of players - leave that to Juddy! :)

A real hard worker up and down the ground, a real players' player. Had a top game against Port!

To get him at pick 45 and fisher at 72 were two bargains in that draft, considering we were robbed of the early picks. Is one of my fav players, no doubt.

Just about him being better than Walker, at this he might be. By the end of next year however, Walker will be in our top 5 IMO. Got a feeling that he might just EXPLODE!

What a great sight watching simmo kick the goal that put us in front. I was a bit worried when he palyed on but finished off well.

He is the sort of player who will be very handy in the years to come when we start moving up the ladder as he will have more protection and better players around him.

He breaks the lines really well and loves the club, what more could you ask for?

have been a big fan of simmo since i saw him play for the bullants down here in tassie. clean left foot, good pace, was brilliant last night and his celebration after he kicked the goal to put us in front was magic.
