Is certainly one of our key players, but I'm not sure if he will do enough for the rest of his career to surpass the likes of Quirk, Crane & Glascott.

I see a bit of Gary Crane in Simmo & little bit of Glascott, but they were both absolute champions & I'm not sure Simmo's career will end up matching them.

Respect for the bloke. Sneaks under the radar but he always runs hard for the team to create space. Work ethic is 100% and probably just behind Judd. Had we lost the game he would have been the clear BOG.

Isaac Smith would have definately learnt alot from him last night.

So long as they both walk away wearing premiership medallions I don't think they could care less.

If he got half the recognition that is fawned onto Judd and Murphy it would be a much fairer recognition of his efforts. One of my favourite Blues to watch, just seems to be ultra-consistent each week and always contributes.

He's better than a passing comment on Carlton's "depth".

Simmo is much harder at it than Glascott ever was and when you consider that Glascott was surrounded for much of his career by champions, his life was made much easier as well. I don't think Glascott would have come through like Simpson if he'd had to endure the dark years.

Personally, I think Simpson should come under serious consideration for a stint as captain if Judd should give it up before he retires. Simpson is about the same age, so he'd only get a year or two at it before handing over to one of the younger blokes. It would be fitting recognition.

I thought his first half was one of the worst I've seen from a player in the last year.
