Re: Sugar's Bladder

I'm not trying to troll.

Good on the club for dealing with it so quickly, I applaud them for that.

Piss weak(litterally) of Johnson though, he should be setting a good example(Don't bother saying 'culture' or bring up West Coast because what they did was terrible).

Is this all going to matter when we are pushing up daisies?,get a life and rack off.

The players must be so blind drunk to be caught urinating, its not that hard at 4am to find a dark spot where nobody can see you but they are doing it in places where they are getting caught, the boys are partying wayyy to hard

that is my immediate reaction...pretty easy to have a slash in a place where the cops won't get you/don't care

musta been in la la land to be pissing on the wall of the police precinct!:o

Re: Sugar's Bladder

Sigh. Everyone doing the right thing and he does this. It really does kill the momentum. Really does.

1 week ban and $5,000 fine going from The Age.

Don't really know what to think, about right I suppose. Overlooking this board's hatred of Sugar, deposing a captain after round 1 would cause unnecessary stress and pressure on the player group, so I'm not all that sad that he's still got the top job - although it's almost guaranteed he won't have it next year. I've reconsidered that point anyway.

And prepare for pun-galore in the sport sections tomorrow - 'Damaging Leak' is just the beginning.

Re: Sugar's Bladder

IIRC Hall copped 3 weeks last season for fighting while in rehab and was not a leader of the club.

Different rules for different players RT, always has been.

Hall was only out after curfew because he had to hang around and give a statement, drank very moderately, was not arrested, and was apparently only defending himself in the incident.

On the other hand, Johnson was out much later, blind drunk, was arrested, did commit the crime, should have been preparing his body for next game, is the *supposed* leader of the club, and then gets to set his own punishment.

It's a very poor example set by Johnson, and a very poor example set by the club to again hand out penalties based on who the player is, not the actual incident.

Re: Sugar's Bladder

Frankly what happened is very, very stupid from Kane and he should be taken of his captaining duties, I don't want him stripped of the duties because I don't rate him as a player, I believe he is in our best 22 and would be very handy against the Roos, but he is a leader of the club, he shouldn't be getting arrested and probably shouldn't have been drinking, even if it was his Birthday Party.

That being said 1 week and $5000 is still fair punishment.

Re: Sugar's Bladder

Well at least we showed that we are professional in the way we deal with indiscretions.

Extremely foolish for a club captain to go pissing outside a cop station though, and he deserves to be punished.

Madtiger will be happy :)

The penalty he gave himself seems about right.

Does this make Newman the man for the roos game?

If so Good luck to him.

For me it has to be Newman or I would even look at maybe Tuck, he is a real hard worker, appears admired by his teamamates and I think may be a good leader.
Please don't give it to Richo, just let him play, for the past two years his body language has improved immensley and so has his consistancy, giving him the captaincy I think would just distract him to much and browny needs to put all his efforts into regaining form and getting himself right.

Cnt believ he kept the captaincy.
No wonder we r a hypocritical rabble

Re: Sugar's Bladder

Look on the bright side.

Our midfield has just had a 50 percent speed boost now he's out for next week.

Yeah, it's great. Polo, Foley Coughlan, Jackson, Tuck, Newman, King, Deledio. Now that's an exciting midfield. Strong, tough, smart, quick, skillfull. A great balance and a dangerous winning combination. :)

He should be sacked we don't need him!!!!

We don't need players like that in our young team.
