Keeffe vs McNamara

Was just in the Shower and this Thought cross my Head. With these 2 on the Rookie List - Which one has the most chance of making in the senior side?

Keeffe - Plays Ruck and KPD and has great Skills for a 204cm Kid and moves quite well. I seen him kick the ball 50+ Meters and hit his target on the Chest. Also has good skills below his knee and can run.

McNamara - Super Raw American but his Athleticism for a 204 cm Person is amazing. Play Ruck and FF. Massive Upside but still very Raw.

I would say Lachy is ahead currently, his skills are way in advance of Shae, although Shae is undoubtedly the superior athlete. How they measure up at year's end is anyone's guess however.

Interesting. Keefe has superior skills but Shae is the better athlete. Right now? Keefe, but I'm betting after a year playing footy, getting accostomed to the game it'll be Shae. He has all the physical assets you want, just needs to learn to kick, and contrary to some opinions on here I just don't think kicking is that hard to learn.

Keeffe has shown a bit to suggest he has a very good chance to be alright as he matures. And Shae ... well as a project player, you would want him to come on and play seniors because it would be a great story ... but there's a long way to go. Anyone know what injury he has?

Oh note from the game on Saturday - Dawson Simpson from the Cats is one HUGE Mo Fo

Simspon was huge I didn't think that he really offered anything at all after the ruck contest, it was as though things happened around his feet and it took his body 30 seconds to realise, by which time it was too late.

I haven't seen Shae play, but I'm definitely undecided on Keefe (slightly leaning towards the 'he won't make it column'), he just seemed to lack any sort of physicality that even Wood possesses. I need to watch him again before I make up my mind firmly.

His old man was on the VFL live chat on the weekend & he mentioned an ankle issue.

Keeffe definitely. He will eventually overtake Wood imo.

Haven't seen McNamara much, but will be surprised if he makes it. Just don't think he will have the time to learn all aspects of the game to make an impact later on down the track despite his athleticism. Happy to be proven wrong though.
