I have started this poll because the other Kel Moore thread had Tiger posters pretty well devided down the middle - will be interesting to see what everyone thinks:

Stats:
Kelvin Moore, Born March 25, 1984 (effectivly 24 at the start of 2008 season), Midfielder/Defender
189cm, 88kg

24 games (2 wins - 22 losses) - averaging 7.25 disposals, 3 marks, .3 goals a game

2007 stats:
7 games: averaging 8.8 disposals, 3.4 marks, .1 goals a game

I believe he is contracted next year however his contract wouldn't be worth a lot so we could pay it out

Keep him. If he can stay fit then he can be very handy for us in the back half.
Hopefully he has the confidence now to play at AFL level.

Pros: We have a derth of tall backman and at 189cm he can play as a 3rd tall or extra small option, resonable skills, pretty good mark

Cons: Has shown VERY LITTLE in 4 years of development, 24 at the start of the 08 season, struggled to find a position at AFL level, will most likely never be more then a 3rd tall, JON is a younger, rawer version of Moore with 4 more years on his side.

Keep for another year. Up until a few weeks ago I'd have said delist for sure, but since then he's played better than I thought he was capable of. He might be useful as a 3rd tall in defence.

Keep Kelvin because I see him maturing now and he did not have the self confidence the last couple of years. Slowly but surely its coming together. If he plays a good game at Coburg on the weekend and it would be great for 2008 that he will be a confident footballer for us.

its hard to say keep a bloke who has only shown anything in roughly 3 games this year but i reckon a bloke with his size and speed is worth sticking with after suffering all his injuries

the problem is that at Coburg he stands out because of his confidence and poise , has done so from pretty much the beginning.
We need players who are his size to be the opposite to "slowly but surely". We have had those types of players clogging our system for to long. The more slowly but surely players you have the less chance you have of finding the next fast track, i want to ****ing kick ass type player, who belongs from the word go. Thats what type of players we need.
Daniel Connors, Shane Edwards, Will thursfield etc, players like that come in and you can see the neon lights light up from day one, "i belong on this stage". ;)

Moore made one of the worst blunders in the first round of the season against Carlton. He panicked and entered a contest which was not only low percentage but also enabled his man, who stayed down, to kick a goal. (That was the nail in our coffin). Experience might teach someone that you never have two up in a contest when only one of the opposition is flying for a mark. Or alternatively footy smarts - an asset Kel doesn't appear to have in abundance as a last line man - would dictate that a defender, when the game is in the balance, not leap into a contest that he can't affect to the benefit of the team.

Having said that, Kel played as a tall winger/flanker (a little bit like Dick Clay) against Essendon and he marked his man well and more importantly he got forward (perhaps instructed to do so by the coach) to actually hit the post from a shot on the run (if memory serves) during the first half. That sold me that he might be useful around the ground instead of as a third tall option in the backline. If he has endurance he could be a real find as a roving midfielder in a negating role. (After all attacking midfielders are getting bigger not smaller).

Upshot is he needs to be tried there for Coburg. About time we played players to their strengths rather then their weaknesses. It's the only reason why I avoided bagging Raines this season despite his obvious lapses in concentration and foot skills. Guy has got responsibilities Guy McKenna didn't have to confront until he was 23-24 and Andrew is half the size

Anyways, carn Coburg! Hope Kel is allowed to run.

Who coached before Spud the Dud. I concur but Terry has to get rid of the crap that Danny taught him. I reckon he belongs but its case of do we put one more year of faith or draft kids not up to it. I say one more year we cant be worse of than we are already are!!!

dude, you are talking to someone that believes that when we get to the point where we are comptetive, the number of players left from the ****wits era will be minimal. Feel sorry for them, dont get me wrong, they most likely had careers to look forward to, drew the short straw and were fed to the career wrecker.
You are now left with players who have missed out on the most important time in their development, the initial part, the transition from junior to the new environment of big time footy. Unfortunately for them they were tutored by the suck that wore his heart on his sleeve and his brain on his ass. You see he didnt have anything else going for him. so he did the cunning thing, i will be that good guy so all the players like me. That way everyone will think gee what a good guy, instead of what was there from day one, complete and utter waste of time.
Yeah good one, how good is this, the coach of a club in the big time, wants to be our freind, woopee doo, this is fun this AFL stuff huh?
They are learning about it now, when the same players at other clubs are eitther progressing to the next level, or they are been shown the door, because they cant cut it. We continue to persevere with these players, all we do is keep what our problem was around. Instead starting fnew projects with a clean slate.

Its just like school dude. You got a kid that arrived from overseas , or got a kid that started out in a small school, with not much going for it and they arrive at a progressive school, they are behind the 8 ball for their entire school career, always chasing the pack, only a few of them with the "inate talent", actually catch up. ;)

I think we have answered the question in the first instance. He is a "tall" and won't be going anywhere. With Gaspar, Hall, Knoble and Kingsley leaving the club I think you are going to be safe if you are over 6 feet. On the other hand, we have a plethora of small running type players who aren't really doing that much. I'd be nervous if I was Hyde, Hartigan, Krakeour, Howat etc

I'm with yoou Tetley. He'll stay because of his height and because he is learning from his mistakes. There are 20 players you can think of delisting in our club and he will be safe because of this. Besides , he's a ginger and if we do delist him Geelong will snap him up straight away and do a Roden on us. I say keep him and let Geelong pick Whitnall instead plus Kel doesn't look like an extra out of star wars like most gingers and is worth another year.

A depth player, no more.

If contracted then we should not be in the habit of throwing money away by cutting him loose. You'd have to expect that would be 80k at the very least! Could be a useful spare part in a trade.

I don't mind him but wont lose any sleep if he gets traded.

Would have been more likely to say keep him if i didn't know his age, i thought he was 21 or 22. Maybe give him 1 more year max, showed a bit against the bombers

I voted for unsure when this thread started. Deserves a spot before Hartigan, Hughes, Schulz, Hyde, JON, White etc etc.

Keep for me.

Did some handy things today, like the little blind turns he did a couple of times when he looked like he was going to get tackled.

Question is, can he do that stuff in the big time?

Has turned things around a bit, and given our lack of depth in the talls department, would be risky to let him go.
