Neil Craig has suggested that Ken would be up for trade.
Ive always thought he was a pretty good player at either end of the ground. Could he be the CHB weve been looking for?

Could do a trade with one of Miller or Jamar for McGregor. Although they are getting Biglands back next year, and Miller might be too much Nick gill- like

I reckon the crows would be keen to use him to upgrade our 1st round pick as opposed to using him for a player. ie McGregor plus pick 10 for pick 4 or 5. I cant see you guys doing that but i reckon there's a chance the bullies might. He deserves to play a full season but the crows will be trying to get some young players through the forward line so he wont get that chance.

Would not want to spend too much on him, but if the price is right then sign him up! Can't see what we would give for him, wouldn't want to give pick 21, crows wouldn't accept 37. Good tradable players in Bruce, Green, TJ are worth too much, bad ones in Miller, Jamar, Chris Johnson aren't worth enough.

Adelaide have some young KPP talent. Not sure who they would be after from us. They do rate Jamar pretty high over here though..

Just off topic, I feel sorry for you mate living in Adelaide and being a Demons supporter given our FAAAAANNNNTASTIC record over at AAMI stadium.

But if we can get rid of Jamar for some quality I'm all for it!

The problem with trading Jamar is that it leaves us with only 2 ruckmen - we might draft one or rookie list another but it's a gamble. I'd send Jamar home for Messon... possibly send Ferguson and our 3rd rounder for McGregor?

I don't think we would be interested in any of your players (Other than the ones you wouldn't trade, Rivers, Bell etc.)

If McGregor headed to the Demons, he would really do well for you i think. Especially as he could be used at either end.

I think all we would look for is probably a draft pick upgrade. Presuming it's a highish one or a large upgrade. (Gee I'm sounding like a burger flipper :o)

Or on the other hand, we would package him up with perhaps a Meesen and look for a decent pick outright.

I'd trade any combo of Miller, Ferg or Jamar they wanted. I may be overrating Paul Johnson but I think he'll keep getting better.

I think some supporters have unrealistic expectations on their hacks.

You have a pretty good point - Bell and Rivers in particular won't be traded any time soon so we would have to come up with something else of value. The club won't trade it's first pick so we would probably package a deal of Miller and our 2nd round pick for McGregor... or something like that.

Although I think clubs like the Bullies will chase him harder than we will. Bailey will know whether or not he is worth it.

To tell you the truth i would rather keep and play both of Jamar and Miller infront of McGregor.

At least both of Jamar and Miller are young enough to improve.

McGregor is coming up 27 which means he should be playing his best football. The fact that he isn't consistantly getting picked for Adelaide (who i think are lacking in the forward line) means he shouldn't be a target for Melbourne.

Why would we want him? Just average and ask yourelf why would Adelaide give him up if he was any good.

The way forward is to draft quality only IMO.

Yeah it deff sux being over here and supporting the dees. Crows seem to be on the look out for a forward and on the news they expressed their interest at small forwards and pointed out that they may well be targeting alan didak and/or aaron davey as he is outta contract atm. Ken McGregor would fix a lot of our spine problems as can play at either end and would b a terric fit for the dees. cannot see us giving up aaron davey which the crows want though. Ken mcGregor and 2nd or 3rd pic for TJ???

Actually as far as I know the original post is wrong. McGregor has requested to find a new home because he hasn't been getting opportunities. I know that Bell loves living in Melbourne but I'm not so sure about Rivers. Does anyone suspect that he might be playing his injury a bit ala Scott Thompson to go home?

I follow Melbourne's fortunes quite closely because my whole family does and they reckon that McGregor + Meesen = Rivers on the proviso that Rivers would want to go home. Otherwise no dice, and understandably so because there'd be no reason to trade him.

Rivers is loyal unlike that dog Thompson, and why would he be homesick, he came from Port Augusta which if my memory is correct is not all that close to Adelaide

Hahaha, Rivers = genuine talent, and plays in a position that we can't afford to lose good players from.
McGregor and Meesen have both struggled to get games at AFL level, McGregor is a solid footballer but I would be only willing to offer a third round pick, Meesen has talent but also hasn't looked special and at this stage looks nothing better than second to third round. Together they don't get close to the worth of Rivers to us. As to suggest he is playing his injury, I'm sure that had we been in the finals right now he would be out there giving 100%, we put the cue in the rack with him, and even Thompson had the decency to put in a solid year in 04 to raise his trade value, and if theres one thing we would have learnt from that it would be if an interstate club wants to get some of their quality players back then they will have to pay up for them.
