news is Kennedy is recovering froma punctured lung after the log de luca ran into his back!
Cannot work out why Kennedy is playing for the Bullants, he should have been playing with the blues, at least gain some experience and if he gets injured then so be it. Seems a waste now.

That is terrible news. Does anybody else have any further details? K.Simpson, you were at the game... anything else to report?

he will miss the rest of the season, no doubt.

Hmm, so he has broken ribs at the back which have in turn punctured his lung? Not good. In most cases they let the lung tear repair itself but impact on his back hard enough to break ribs is not good.

Wrap him in cotton wool. The bad part is that the Bullants could really use him in the finals. It's a real setback.

My guess is that he was palying in the Bullants so he can rack up enough games to take part in the Bullants final campaign. Also its better for him to get a full game for the Ants than 40 minutes playing for Carlton at this stage, imo. With a full pre-season under his belt, I'd expect him to play the majority of games next year.

Hopefully he'll be alright come finals time.

****!

That's horrible news. Today was the game where he gained VFL finals qualification. What a shame he now won't be a part of the Bullants or the Blues for the rest of the year.

Bloody Deluca!!! He is useless!

How ridiculous-both our top picks are now injured. Bloody magnificent :thumbsd:

Oh well, looking forward to seeing Josh come back next year, reasy to play by round 1 and hopefully for the full year.

Our injury list keeps piling up

From what i saw he came of at the end of the 2nd q holding his right shoulder.

I HOPE its just a punctured lung, but like i said, i think its his shoulder.

Think all you like, but he has a punctured lung, or partially punctured, which is not as bad.
he may be beack before seasons end, there is nothing wrong with his shoulder.

Thats good news that his shoulder is fine, but bad news he has a punctured lung.

yes, but maybe better than a shoulder injury. hopefully he will recover quickly as he hasnt needed a chest drain, so cant be all that bad.

C'Mon we have to blame someone, sure it wasnt kosi in a deLuca disguise?

I have been saying to my fellow Carlton supporting work mate that De Luca is bad news on the forward line. He (DeLuca) does not understand the notion that he spoils his own teammates more than Scarlett, Fletcher, Michael and Rutten put together. He runs into his own players and more often than not takes his opponent to the contest. If he was taking 15-20 marks a game you could forgive him, but guess what.... He doesn't. Something as simple as calling a player back for the mark just doesn't register. Trade bait.... If anyone will take him.  :thumbsd:

Unfortunately he has no value. I suggest we use him at the Bullants because he is a good VFL player and then delist him once his contract has expired.

football is a contact sport, these things happen. injury and colissions are part of the game

i would rather have our players try crach packs than hang out or duck their heads.

people bag deluca saying he is soft and he doesn't use his height and body, so when he does crash a pack people are up in arms cause kennedy is injured. would there be the same outcry if it was callum chambers and not kennedy.

very much sounding like a richmond thread......eat your own, thats the way to go.

Exactly, didn't hear anything bad against Fev when he injured Fisher.

It's official - punctured lung and 4 to 6 weeks off.

No mention of any shoulder problems, but you'd think there has to be some rib injury.

Kennedy to miss 4 to 6 weeks
Carlton has been dealt a blow in the wake of its drought-breaking victory with young gun Josh Kennedy ruled out for the rest of the year after suffering a collapsed lung while playing in the VFL.

Kennedy, Carlton's second pick behind Marc Murphy in last year's NAB AFL National Draft, fell victim to the injury during the Northern Bullants' win over the Box Hill Hawks on Sunday.

He is expected to miss between four and six weeks with the injury, consequently ending his season and destroying any chance the youngster had of playing another senior game this year.

Less than 24 hours earlier, Blues coach Denis Pagan said he couldn't wait to get Kennedy back in the side and that he was eagerly looking forward to judging him during Sunday's game.

An outside chance to play with the Bullants perhaps ?
