If we were serious at nabbing Kerr, West Coast have already said they want two 1st round picks for him.

I'd say we could get it done if we gave up Pick 8 and Alex Rance. He was a 1st rounder last year and has dad is also a former captain of the club.

Thoughts?

Pass, unlike the Judd deal WC hold all the power in this one as Kerr has a year to go on his contract. And as expected they will be asking the world for Kerr, which is fair enough.

I don't see any reason why we should give Rance and a first rounder to WCE.
I'd rather keep Rance and see him develop into something extraordinary than Kerr in our team.

Mind you, I'd like to see WCE requesting to get Rance as soon as he becomes an excellent player by offering us all of their first round pick.

rance is going to be a gun
the kid may not even see coburg again
and i think he won an award the other night for our best young player coming forward or soemthing like that

rance > kerr and the eagles will try to poach him in the coming years

rance > kerr and the eagles will try to poach him in the coming years
They will, but hes a CHB, young, and lots of potential, so we'll get compensated very well, so nothing to worry about. Plus he has a great attitude so doubt he'll want to go back anytime soon.

and in two years when he wants to go back home to perth , rance will be gone, so....do the deal
I doubt he'd want to go home. The Judd trade has made everyone insecure about players and their home states. They hardly ever happen to Victorian teams, especially the big ones, and our club SHOULD be attractive to play for in the coming years.

True i think they just use the go home thing to get more $$$$

That would be a steal, Kerr is a gun midfielder that could make up for all the deficiciencies in the back and forward line.:thumbsu:

It wouldnt be the end of the world if we traded them Rance, I'd love him to stay, but we already do have Thursfield, McGuane and Moore as our key position backmen, so letting go of Rance wouldnt be TOO catastrophic.

Kerr would be great in our midfield, he'd support Tucky, Deledio, Foley and Cotch really well. He'd accelerate the improvement in Hughes and Riewoldt, and he'd bring some members to the club as well. :thumbsu:

hmmm...if we were to trade Rance for Kerr, you'd have to wonder if that's the real reason we got Rance all along...knowing of rumblings in the WC camp...may also explain why he never played seniors this year....and perhaps we decided to decorate him as most exciting future prospect(or what ever it was) at the B&F last night just to bolster his CV....

I'm with you , do the deal , Kerr for pick 8 and Rance is a bargain. West Coast will get what their given anyway because next year they will recieve nothing for a bloke that has stayed 2 seasons to long at their club, distracted the team for another year and watch Carlton pick him up in the pre season draft so he can play with his boyfriend Judd again.

The Kerr deal is this year boys . Not next year this year. Pick 8 and 22 will do the deal. We can keep Rance and still make it happen. You reckon a fit Kerr this year wouldn't of helped us make the finals.

Those three games against the Dogs, Hawks and Saints would have propelled us into fourth spot.

We would very likely have been playing the Dawks tonight, and with a 2-0 record over them in the Home and Away season, would have been very winnable. Oh man. :(

So what. Would have we won the premiership? What happens if Kerr got injured like Brown did in 2005?

Well we did beat the Hawks the second time around pretty convincingley.

We all know that the Cats will win the Grannie, but geez it would be great to have made it from last the previous season.

Not to mention our season would still have been alive.

And anything can happen on the day mate. :thumbsu:

We also beat Essendon in R22 2001. Remember what happened the next week? You are getting too ahead of yourself if you think Kerr= grand final berth.

God help us !

Do you guys have any idea just how good Rance will be?
Do you guys have any idea that Trengrove will hold down CHF for the next 10 years?

This is how confident I am that these two will be the cornerstone of our success.

I'd love Kerr, but no.

You dont trade a key position player for a midfielder.
