i can kick fifty with a lucky hit :)
ive got a lot of practice ahead of me before i can kick 50 without paying attention.

technique and timing. i am a grass high 166cm and can kick 50m. when i was a pup it was as far as i could kick, and after a few months getting back into it in the over 35's, i have regained that distance again, as well as good accuracy. the secret might be in being left footed! :):D

I'm a natural left-footer at everything except footy, aw we were forced by our primary PE teacher to do everything right footed before being allowed to do it left footed. (I hated junior footy until I started playing club). It did result in me being almost equal footed though.

From a standstill/slow jog I can kick about 40-45m with my right - a real worm-burning bullet. Adding height doesn't seem to give too much extra distance. With my left I can easily hit 50, but it's a much higher, 'floating' kick and fades as often as not.

Once running, my left flips over to being a hook, but I still get 50m pretty regularly. On the run my right foot becomes a much higher kick, and I can kick 50 comfortably, but little more.

I kick right-footed almost exclusively as it just feels "right", but my left is generally a better kick for gaining space/clearing traffic/finding wide open players upfield/etc. I just don't use it unless I have to.

with a drop kick i can kick a goal from 50, most angles.i was never any good with a drop punt, so i decided that ill try drop kicksnow i can do them on the run, out of a pack, shooting for goal. it's all about timing

try not to run around it so much (get forward motion & power from running toward your target in as straight a line as you can)

try not to lean back on it (you are probably doing ok in this regard looks like)

stretch your hammys and follow through nice and high with a straight right leg (kicking leg) after impact

kick through the ball not up and under it

the ball should strike your foot nice and low so watch your ball drop

hope these are handy mate

Im ot a very big kick im actually quite a small one but what ive been told is to kick big is
1. Big Run Up
2. Big last step before you kick so your leg kick can kick faster like a pendulum
3. Drop the ball right hit the ball at the right spot
4. Follow through with your foot as high as it can go
5. Dont try and kick it to hard or you will end up stuffing it up or missing the ball completely.

Its all in the follow through and ball drop in my opinion. Drop it straight, kick through it and aim to have ball impact as low as possible. The follow through should be straight and dont be scared to let it rip..! Ive played rep soccer my whole life plus AFL and all Rugby forms so have been kicking balls my whole life - can drop punt a sherrin 55m both feet :)

If you want to improve you other foot, get the leg strength up by kicking soccer balls against a wall, much less taxing then a football and builds it up nicely.
