Kicking for goal

Sorry to sour our best win in the last 7 or 8 years but...

Our kicking at goal has been terrible! If we had have kicked straight this year we would have beaten Essendon earlier, last week the Port game would have been closer for the first 3rd of the match then we would have smashed them in the last 1/4, and this week we would have smashed Collingwood big time!

Full credit to the boys in playing a few big last quarters and showing real fitness and endeavour but we can't play catch-up every week.

I believe if we can get this right we could beat nearly any one...

Getting this right and obtaining another good tall strong marking forward might be the last things we need to get right as a footy team before we are premiership contenders...

as long as we kick around the same amount or less behinds than goals I'll be happy.

If we get it right this weekend V Essendon it could be a blood bath !...

I think our kicking out after the opposition scores a behind is worse. Kicking to a contest in that position is a BIG NO-NO! Gibbs is the worst offender. Everyone's got to realise it isn't just forwards who have to lead.

We weren't bad at kicking out against Collingwood. We have been against many teams however.

Kicking at goal accuracy is one thing in the game that has never improved. It is an interesting point isn't it? Everything else has improved, why not goal kicking?

Yeah kicking out has been an issue, I don' mind going to a contest as long as we are going long (very long) and wide to good targets with numbers.

It's just a matter of getting the right people doing it. IMO Thornton is my preference...

definately not carazzowas quite ordinary in the port adelaide game...thornton would be good.prefer to have the likes of stevens and carazzo making potential targets
