Blake form was pretty poor against the dockers and has been down for the past 2-3 weeks. I think the long season is starting to take its toll on his 21 year old frame, which is to be expected. King has been in great form in the magoo's and I think he should get another crack this week to see if he still has it. He is a previous captain, All Australia and B'n'F winner. It's against Richmond at skilled and if he does break down again, at least Blake will have a nice rest before coming back in.

If the GFC is serious about bringing in King, now is the time to do it.

Blake can rest in the VFL for 2-3 weeks, as King will probably re-injure himself so Blake will be fresh for Finals.

I'd love to see King playing decent footy, but at the moment I cannot see it happening.

Blake was good yesterday.

Why tinker with a winning combination?

Ladies and gentlemen... please make no mistake - Steven King still has good football left in him - not AA football, but he will add to this Geelong outfit u are seeing now and help them big time in September against Cox.

Good chance to give Blake a spell. He has looked a bit flat at times the last few weeks. He has been decent but nowhere near the form he was showing earlier in the season. No offence to Richmond but it should be an easier game than this week was. Put King in the side for 2 weeks, if he plays poorly than put a refreshed Blake back in. If King plays well than we got a good selection problem on our hands :D

got a feeling bomber will play all 3 this week, we should easily account for richmond and even if we dont its not the end of the world might aswell try the combination

Mooneys off field presence is too much to rest him unless he absolutely needs it; he doesn't need to do much, him just being on the field is good (and its not as if he has played horribly.)

I would feel sorry for Blake if he was omitted, especially if King came in and did such an amazing job he hung around into the Finals. For a youngling Blake has shoulders alot of burdens and he done quite a decent job. Would be a shame for him to miss out on anything. But maybe a rest of one or two weeks would be good. Then again, maybe if he has a good game against Richmond will get his confidence up.

Won't Otto get a week for that headbutt?

I only saw it once but he seemed to make contact...

If they wanna bring King in, then this week is the time and place to do it. He can still offer alot to the team. Why change a winning team people ask? You arn't going out and changing the whole formula or structure of the side, but you can always look for improvments. And i reckon Kingy in this week for Blake should improve the team, simply because Kingy is in form and Blake isn't. Blake will benifit from a run in the 2's.

Re: Which 2nd ruckman would you rather for the Richmond game?

Blakey of course :D

1. Will find some form back from the light training run ;)

2. Great chance to kick his first goal :thumbsu:

Sorry to any tiger supporters, but on current form I just can't rate you on this game at all. I do think that a good pre season will see your guys back greatly improved next year though.

It's time for King to get a run. Blakey's dropped off a bit - his learning curve has been great, but he is still learning.

Gotta be King.
It's been great to watch Blake come along this year but it's debatable whether his ruckwork is even better than King's, he doesn't give much as far as effective disposals go either. King has it all over him in that area.
King has a bigger body too and they've proven to be rather useful come September...

You make me laugh.

I say King.

This has been brought up more than once by Bomba, you would suspect that if he was going to try it some time, this would be the time.
