India is 4/438
Dravid 214*
Ganguly 75*

India at home are still one hell of a test for any side. Our next tour there will be a fascinating battle. Hope like anything when the time comes we truimph!!

In the meantime good luck NZ!

How fitting it is, seeing the Kiwis falter against a side coached by a former NZ international.;)

And the surprise is ??????

NZ bowling attack comprises Tuffey, Oram, Styris, Wiseman, Vettori. That attack would struggle to dismiss a grade side let alone the 2nd best batting lineup in World Cricket on an Indian "road" (apologies to Vettori, at least he looked like getting a wicket)

India unearthed next champ, Patel

Patel next Sehwag next Tendulkar next Indian God.........wait he already is

HarveynickymilneBGX

Robert Harvey:2 Brownlow Medals ; 4 Best and Fairests ; 8 Times All Australian , 3 EJ Whitten Medals and not finished yet

I am going to the match tomorrow as it is eing played just down the road from my house. NZ presently 33/3. At least I picked a day when the match was still on....doubt it will go into Sunday. The pitch will break up after tomorrow.

One thing I want to do before I die (sometime off yet I hope) is go to the cricket in India. Looks completely mad. Envious of you Matt.

I'm going to Aust v Zim tomorrow. Think the atmosphere may be somewhat different to India ;)

i am dumbfounded by the fact that both captains agreed to call the match a draw, a hour an a half before the scheduled stumps.

Fair enough NZ would want to do so, but India only needed 4 more wickets. No wonder Tendulkar was ****ed off.

Craig McMillan..... struggling these days:

54 & 83* v India... ok but before that...

4 & 18 v India
9 v India
14 v West Indies
6 & 1 v West Indies
15 & 2 v Pakistan

I rate the Kiwis. Might not have the most talent but they play with heart and you've got to admire that. In many ways the kiwis and the indians couldn't be more different. India have stars, NZ have none. India play without much strategy, hoping their talent will win out, NZ play with consistent application extracting all they can out of the team. India are characterised as being aloof, unrealistic and detached from reality (eg Mr Ganguly and the wicket comment), NZ are fairly practical and realistic about their cricket.

I was initially surprised they opened so poorly in this test but give the kiwis credit for staving off defeat. Second test will be interesting.
