When judging someone's legacy don't you take into account all of their life? When Bob Hawke died his life as a whole was considered and it was generally agreed he wouldn't win any father of the year awards, likewise no obit of Hemingway would be complete without passing comment that he was fond of a drink. I'm no basketball fan but I know Bryant was a great player and he put a lot back but it doesn't mean you can white wash the parts of his life that show him in a lesser light when considering his legacy.
