I'm going to ignore the Op's question since i have no idea and just say that I can't ****ing wait to see this guy play when he's fully fit. He'll take the comp by storm.

I reckon that after a proper pre-season, he will be 100% used to his massive new physique and will be ripping the shit out of the opposition rucks.

Was the best thing ever to happen to him I think

I just don't want him bulked up too much though. He had genuine pace prior to his knee and he can still get virtually all that back but putting more size on him than his body can handle for the sake of mixing it with a Sandi type can bring on all sorts of problems.

He isn't our best ruckman but he was by far the best at followup work, ground work and had good acceleration. we need that again from him.

TBH I can't see 206 putting alot more size on and I reckon Hammer is our best weapon against the bigger, heavier blokes.

I don't think he needs to get used to the massive frame, I think he needs to cut down on some of the bulk he built up during his injury. Looks way too big for his body and needs to lose a bit of weight to free up his movement. Plus imagine the pressure it's putting on his knees to carry that weight around.

As an NBA fan as well as AFL I'm eerily reminded of Greg Oden. He was an outstanding athlete prior to the knee injuries and did a Matthew Kreuzer when he suffered the knee injury. Oden packed on the muscle that gave him a massive frame and when he came back he first did a foot injury and then did the knee again because his body couldn't handle the weight that he had put on it. AFL is much more demanding on the knees than is basketball (I've played both at a relatively high level, although the knees take a pounding playing basketball too just that AFL is much more reliant on precision, split-second turning).

The one thing that Kreuzer has to his advantage over Oden is that Kreuzer doesn't have Oden's condition where one leg was actually longer than the other (by a full inch).
 
Too much bulk this year. Understandable coming off a knee reco. That'll change after a full-preseason. Suspect 2012 Kruezer will be lighter, and he'll regain the speed and agility that made him so dangerous in 2010.

Greg Oden allready had a massive frame. he is the defintion of man child since about 15 years of age

Yes, but he was only 265 when he broke his knee the first time. He returned 295 with all 30 of that being from weight training (ala Kreuzer). I think I know a thing or two about G.O. I watched a good thirty to forty percent of his high school games in person.

I agree he needs to get to a lighter stage and concentrate on his speed and core strength which are his assets, rather than monstrous bulk. What he may lack against monsters like Sandi he can make up for in running other big men off their legs and double as a midfielder (he has tremendous hands too. I mean handball wise. He could be as good as anyone in that area IMO) and push forward to take easy marks.

He should be fine though hopefully. I can't wait.

So you're saying we should have picked Kevin Durant instead?

Some say we don't need anymore small forwards, so it could be a counterproductive discussion.
