i have heard that collingwood are seriously contemplating on drafting him as a mature age rookie. how likely is this and what do people think of the suggestion? i think he could be a good inclusion :thumbsu:

Yeah should take Thoolen's spot.

Has shown quite a bit throughout the VFL season and was great during the finals.

Needs a nickname tho... we can't call him Pendles now can we! Haha.

can anyone who has watched him regularly tell us something about him?? usual position played.. attributes?? is he highly skilled, slow, quick, hard, big bodied, height, age...etc?? and also, if you have seen him play regularly, is there any player in the afl thats comparable to him..

thanks in advance:thumbsu:

he is older than scott, but this is a good thing because it means he is physically developed. i rate him!!! would love to get him.

i like Krazy Kris Kringle haha

Surprised a thread about him wasn't started earlier.

Hadn't seen much of him until the finals series and he definitely would be a handy mature-aged recruit. We probably lack another player capable of playing on the dangerous smalls of the opposition. Could prove a handy back-pocket player as he is strong and creative with his rebound and disposal. Also pretty hard at it.

Certainly better prospect than Thoolen.

Should take the punt on him. Won't cost us anything.

Kris Pendlebury
No. 49
16/04/86
189 cm
87 kg

Recruited from Bendigo Bombers

Older brother of vice-captain Scott, in his second season for the VFL Magpies. A key defender who possesses strong hands, a thumping kick and very good overhead. Started on the VFL rookie list last year and has since been promoted to the primary list.

He is 23. I still think he is worth a chance as a mature age recruit. Looks the goods.

Similar height and weight as his bro too (Scott is 190cm and 88kgs)! Haha.

he plays at CHB occasionally but he is a tall backman naturally. he is a smart footballer, skills are about par (he is the brother of scott), he is around 191-194cm? (closer to 191 i think), he is not explosive in pace, but he makes up for it with his toughness. he is a developed body - which is what i like.

correct me if i'm wrong anyone who knows more about him. this is just my overview from what ive seen from him.

Saw a bit of him throughout the year, has a body similar in build to Porplyzia although taller, not overly quick but not slow, very solid and seems to make confident decisions. Would make a solid back flanker.. maybe move H.Shaw into the midfield next year?

thanks for the profile guys... by the sounds of things maybe we are going after the big bodies we need... the positive thing is the coaching staff already know whether he is capable or not and would be able to play right away if warranted by form...

to offer a view to the contary, in the vfl games i saw this year he didn't come across as an afl player.
slow, not overly skilled, solid body, no real weapons, not kpp size, pretty uninspiring really, rate goldy, cook, cox, reed etc all ahead of him.
I'd gamble on another kid myself.
he has been continually overlooked for the reasons stated above, that said plenty of good afl players get overlooked, so all the best if he gets a list spot with us.

Good to see someone has some judgement. Not an AFL standard player.

I think he has a solid skill set and can play big , but my major concern is leg speed. Being better than Thoolen should be a given for any new addition to the list.

I agree mate.

Too many people are getting excited by his last name and a couple of decent finals games. Fact is he's too short for true KPP and doesn't exhibit the pace to go with the AFL's smalls.

Good VFL player, but at 23, thats all he'll be IMO.

If you want to get excited over someone with a good last name, lets have a crack at Miles Sewell.

We might struggle to get Sewell, I think a few clubs will be chasing him. Personally I'd go after the best young player in the VFL, Micky Barlow, much better prospect than Pendlebury for mine.

haha now now

Satisficing behaviour - "Seeking or achieving a satisfactory outcome, rather than the best possible"

Not good enough for Collingwood FC

Seemingly had the ball on a string on the weekend. Can not believe he is only 21, was amazingly composed with the ball.

Would take him in a heart beat.
