That's a very good game in anybody's book. Has already shown that he should be a pretty good player at AFL level. Just needs to spend some time in the gym over the next couple of summers.

I was suprised that he got dropped in the first place. We have nothing to lose why don't we put him in the middle for 100 mintues and let him play??? What is the worst that could happen?? He get's beaten?? Well at least then he will know the level that he needs to get to to become an elite AFL midfielder.

Spot on. I thought he was very unlucky to be droppped as well. At least he went back to the VFL and got some serious game time, and a heap of the ball as well. Has to be back in this week against the Pies.

I agree but unfortunately I think he will be included at the expense of Jesse Smith. Both of these guys should play out the final 2 senior games. Stevens should be dropped for lack of form. It definately will not hurt him or the team.

I think Luke was dropped because he had one more game to go to qualify for the VFL finals. I think that was more important than a game for the bottom AFL team. He would appreciate the feeling of being in a winning team with plenty of spirit.

You are a bit harsh on Stevo. Yesterday he was our most experienced midfielder and copped Kane Johnston as a tagger. Johnston is a gun midfielder himself and has fixed up most of his opponents this year. Stevens battled on pretty hard and often took Johnston out of the play (at the expense of his own stats) to help the Team. Overall he was not the worst player and in fact played a good team game

From all reports he was magnificent on the weekend.

I think that he will definitely come back in this weekend, now that he has qualified for Bullants finals. I just hope that it isn't at the expense of Jesse Smith. We need to play our youngsters together as much as possible. Also hope JR comes back in the coming weeks, and we see maybe one more debutante before the end of the year.

Have been very impressed with him and he made steps forward when Murph went down.
His game against the Hawks was not good and ground time was limited accordingly. Think the trip back to the Bullants was to get a full game under his belt and to, hopefully, dominate.
Seems he did this and is a real chance to be back in the 1's.
Very composed young man, couple of good pre-seasons and he could be anything.

If that's the case then fair enough. He should come straight back into the Carlton team this week for the game against the 'pies. I really think this kid has something and he should be in the seniors every week.

Good move, an extra month of matches playing finals in a winning team will be great for his development and the development of our other youngsters.

Its been said before and needs to be said again, rushing youngsters into to the team before they are ready will cause more harm than good. We are getting belted but sacrificing kids wont fix that. Many coaches, including Lethal have said that they are expected to do too much too early and its damaging. Pagan is a beleiver in easing them in.

Thats good.

Sometimes he may appear to be reluctant, but maybe expectations are overly eager and lack patience.

Blackwell had actually started to drop off his game, when a bloke is still earning his spot (as he is) then dropping him back is not too bad and serves its purpose. When a bloke is well and truly cemented, is doing his job and only slightly undercooked but still one of your best, ................you dont drop him.
