Lachie Keeffe - CONFIRMED ACL

During the post match interviews, Nathan Buckley said that Keeffe's injury is suspected to be an ACL, as assessed by the club doctors.

If scans reveal it is an ACL, it will be our 4th of the season, absolutely shocking.

Unfortunately as we all feared, Lachie has torn his ACL. He will undergo his reco in the next few days. The club is expecting his return to footy in early 2013.

Looked ACL mechanism of injury.

If they think it's likely ACL it virtually certain it is, as nothing else gives the abnormal forward movement you see at the knee.

Unbelievable.

So sad for him and also your team after its fine effort. Hopefully by some miracle it's something else and not an ACL.
 
Just shattering:(, he had improved so much in such a short time.

Hopefully there's a miracle and it's just his PCL or medial, but it looks unlikely.

If there's a positive to come out of it, his short term future is secure, I think he is out of contract and I'm sure, like with Caff and Ball he will be offered a new contract.

We all feel for you Lachie.:)

man once all the other key defenders are fit. Would be the perfect option as the second ruck who can go forward or back - as versatile as Leigh brown was. He has held the back half together this year as far as tall defenders go. When we win the flag he will have played his part

Absolutely shocking news.

However, there is a silver lining...

Next 3 weeks we have Suns, Demons and bye. After that 3 week run, we should have Brown, Tarrant and Reid all up and about.

So while it's a complete disaster for him to go down, it's one spot we can most certainly cover with some quality players. Keeffe must be the best 4th string key defender going around!

Nick will have to fill the void as a key back for a couple of weeks - come on skipper!! Thought he did a great job in the last 15 against Tippett-not one mark when Nick went to him.
 
Lachie Keeffe has been epic this season. Started the year out of necessity, and by Rd3 had made the spot his own. Hadn't played a bad quarter, let alone a bad game. I feel for him, you have done yourself, your team and supporters proud Lachie. I wish you all the best in your recovery.

And yeah, is 4 in a season a record?? Such terrible luck, surely it has to turn around for us soon.

Not entirely true.

Taz and Brown are not injured anymore, it's just a matter of whether they are match fit and ready to go.

We will get Hartley back in the VFL in a few weeks also, and I wouldn't be shocked to see him debut, as I've said against his "bitch" Patton vs GWS.

Reid will probably play on QB if everything coming out of the club is to believed.

Our best 3 tall defenders do not have long term injuries, that's the shining light, if there is one.
