Watched this guy the other night. Never fumbles, harder runner than anyone else, good off both feet, good overhead. Got to be in the conversation as one of the top 3 players in the league. Not a contested animal like a Fyfe, Dangerfield or Oliver but in my opinion more damaging.

Think the highly skilled outside types are underrated in the league by fans. There aren’t many players with pace, elite foot skills and the ability to run all day.

is a key player for Melbourne and he probably only ticks 2 out of those 3 boxes.

Good player but not in the top bracket for mine.

Is 27 now, so just entering his prime. Hasn't improved as much as he should have in my opinion.

Needs to be tagged every game IMO, very damaging player.

His courage is underappreciated too. Always goes when he needs to, and regularly has to grasp for hospital passes from his teammates.

Both he and Kelly don’t flinch despite their wiry builds.

Definitely in the top echelon, but hard to rate where he sits in the grand scheme. Top 10 at his best, but usually just inside the Top 30.

He's an A grader but nowhere near top 3. Playing off half back he can set up the play, but if he was able to do that in the midfield and be delivering inside 50 a lot more, he would be way more valuable.

He is deadly by foot. Some of the risky kicks he pulls off are jaw dropping. I watch our players miss open targets why this guy hits a needle in a haystack.

He's the best/most consistent wing in the AFL and has been for 5 years now

He's spent a fair bit of time off the half back flank in the last few years. You can't make the call that he's the best wing by position when he doesn't always play there.

He and McLuggage are the best runners in the league. Arc to arc they are ten metres better than the next best on a consistent basis.

Goes under the radar a little because he plays for a Sydney club but a brilliant player and distributor of the ball. Along with
Toby and Josh Kelly he is a top 3 player at the Giants.

Love Whitfield. He's also tough. Doesn't shirk a contest. I like that he has been loyal to GWS too. Could have easily ended up back at a Melbourne club at any point.

Completely agree, and Bailey Smith is entering that discussion as well.

Would love to have any of those three at the Hawks - we still haven't found a replacement for Isaac Smith who was the previous 'best winger/runner' before those three overtook him.
