Mods sorry if this is already posted somewhere I looked though a few pages and couldnt find.. so I thought I'd make this and see if I get flamed to the ground or not!.

Throw out your ladder predictions for Essendon and the other 17 if you're keen!

I'll even throw in a poll for fun.

Went with 5th....

5, the number worn by the great man, who never backed down throughout this entire ordeal, Brent Stanton. :thumbsu:
Haha I was waiting for a different name. You got me.. haha
I think 5 too Its certainly possible with a good run. Having Sydney first is a huge advantage or second would be nice too I think. But if the last few years are anything to go off it could save what more than likely looks like a loss.

I went for 3rd because I only look at two clubs out there and think, yep we'll have to get lucky to beat them. That would be Hawthorn and Sydney. However, as I'm typing I starting to think that Clarke will make a massive difference to their side. Cockatoo may add a fair bit of pace to their midfield, though you'd be crazy to hang your hat on a first year kid ... except for Laverde!!!

In my eyes you can throw a blanket over North, Port, Essendon, Freo and even Richmond this year. All of them have lots going for them but also a fragility that it wont take much to go wrong for the wheels to fall off if the right things go wrong. Essendon for example, if Watson and Hooker were to both miss large parts of the season then we'd struggle to make the eight. In fact I think we could add Sydney to this bunch.

Port is one of the most over rated teams I can remember. Sure they have played some good footy but their much vaunted fitness is a result of having such a lucky run with injuries that not only have they had nearly a full list to choose from week in week out, they aren't nursing anyone through training.

I'm backing Essendon to stand above this pack because of the emotional relief, an improved forward line, faster ball movement and a coach that has seemed to draw more passion out of the list.

I chose 7th, I'm expecting a slow start to the year but am hoping we'll finish strong.

I do believe everyone is underrating us though .... I love it!

6th for me also. Home final (and win) is where we are at the moment considering our lack of preseason.

4th, see Hawks Port and Sydney as standouts but that 4th spot is there if we can maintain our best. If not still a good chance to make the 8, feeling pretty bullish about this season.

I'm going 6 also.

I expect the top four to be Haw, Port, Frem and Syd.

The rest of the 8 will be filled by four of Ess, Nth, Geel, Adel, Rich, GC and Coll.

Went through the fixture for those 7 teams and I think we should win at least 14 games.

Adl have a pretty easy draw and should make the 8 with 14-15 wins.

Nth have a tough start but there run home is favourable so they should also make it with 14 wins.

Rich are the most likely to round out the 8 as their draw looks pretty good and they have improved their depth - 13 wins.

Geelongs draw looks really tough and I think they will really struggle against the stronger teams - 11 wins

GC have a tough run home and still look a bit behind some of the other teams, so i think they will also miss - 11 wins

Collingwood's draw is tough and although I don;t think they will make the finals, they will certainly influence the outcome as they play alot of the teams battling for a spot twice - 9 wins.
