Why the hell are we getting so precious about what a player says in anger during aVFL match with an audience of around 1000 people?

Hope we appeal as high as we can go.

Even if they think he is lying that penalty is nuts.

9 weeks given the precedent is actually pretty logical (noting Rankine getting the preferential treatment was bullshit).

His last suspension was 6 and it’s a follow up offence. 8+ would have been the only starting point to make sense.

The duration (if they think he’s guilty) makes sense.

The issue is they havent gone close to proving he did it, except by their own shit standards

Lance didn’t get the same leniency when he should have.

And the AFL, I've said this was already predetermined, his guilt, and I still stand by that; their need to be seen as being progressive, outweighs the possible truth

Some get a slap on the wrist, others cop it dry, their case was flimsy, apart from them being sure he did it.

• The dolphins signed an affidavit to say what happened after the match,well impact statements, as you do when it's a reported hate crime. The charge against was basically during the tribunal they could not remember what they wrote and what they said did not match what they wrote, so essentially made it all up on the spot to be unreliable narrators of their story.

I’m pretty sure it’s the reference to them noting they couldn’t remember specifically what they had said to Lance in the lead up (as in specifically did you call him a dickhead or a ********).

I think it’s a bit of twisting words there.

In both instances the accuser is believed.

There is a supporting witness to the accuser in collards case and no supporting witness to the accuser in the Butters case but you’d probably argue the accuser being an umpire provides more credibility.

To be clear I’m not defending the process nor outcome in either event, just noting it’s a stretch to argue there is inconsistency in that way when in both cases the accuser is essentially found to be telling the truth
