My bad. To make up for it.....
Gg cannot even sad react to this information.
It never ends
Another grievance has been filed by Raiders wide receiver Antonio Brown against the NFL in his attempt to wear the helmet he prefers, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported.
Brown, who had his first helmet grievance denied by an arbitrator on Aug. 12, is now arguing he should be provided the same right as other players in terms of having a one-year grace period to phase out using his helmet. He is claiming the NFL is arbitrarily applying its rules.
To be fair, the NFL do tend to make the rules up as they go along
And to be fair to the NFL, this isn't one of those occassions. The players union signed off on it two years ago, and they even gave the players with banned helmets a one year grace period. No one else but AB is having whinge. The bloke is just a genuine nutcase.
Actually the argument barely a week ago was that the NFL told Brown he could wear the same design of helmet provided it was under 10 years old. Then when he found such helmets, the NFL moved the sticks and said they needed to be tested. Will be interesting to see where this goes from here.
It's not gonna be a long term thing though. Hard Knocks is also playing into this.
Surely an independent company is testing the helmets to make sure they are to the required safety standard, I'm sure the players union wouldn't have signed off if not. I mean even Brady and Rodgers haven't bothered arguing about this after being forced to change their helmets after many years, two of the NFLs glamour boys realise that the NFL is actually trying to do some good here.
Personally id be happy for AB to sign a waiver saying he can't sue the NFL for any head injuries caused while wearing his old helmet from now on, would serve him right if something did happen. Unfortunately the lawyers don't obviously think one person gets that right when the whole player body except him has agreed to these rules.
The testing company is independent but you can't just move the sticks as they have done. A week ago it was fine for AB to wear this helmet if they found one that was less than 10 years old. He finds some, and then they ban it anyway. How is that possibly fair?
Lol. Surely not. This really is sad
