Absolutely ****ing pathetic Melbourne. We get ourselves up for the big games, and do crap all in the winnable ones.

Dissapointing :thumbsd::thumbsd::thumbsd::thumbsd:

I'm choking on my own disgust. Never seen a team not want to win before. Bailey better get ****ing angry, johnson just played his last game for mfc, Silvia was horrible.

Exactly right. We should always win games like this - even if we'd had a double-figure injury count, we really should've won today.

The attitude of a number of our guys was pretty questionable. Sylvia amongst the worst culprits in this instance.

I hope DB rips into them.

Unacceptable effort. I hope this mindset doesn't start to creep into the players heads when we think we've got a winnable game on our hands.

Not good enough Melbourne!

Every backup ruckman we've tried this season has been a liability. We play far better with Jamar playing solo.

1. The Snake
2. PJ
3. SME

Snake and PJ are no hopers. For some inexplicable reason, I maintain a glimmer of hope for SME. Probably because he doesn't look quite as ******ed as the other two. Gawn!

Stef Martin is a spud, and PJ also falls into that category.

Miller and Newton would be far better options as 2nd ruckman given that they can at least offer something (not much, but something) around the ground.

I agree with the overarching sentiment expressed in this thread as well, we really seemed to lack interest in the match today, and there didn't seem to be any urgency attached to our play. The tackling and pressure which has formed the foundation for our gameplan in recent weeks was totally non-existant today, and as a result, we never really stood a chance.

The Eagles were also pretty ordinary until the 4th quarter, but we just didn't come to play today.

Danny Frawley said that he was in the rooms before the game and he felt like the players were worried about losing the game today and they played like it. Embarrassing effort. They like being the hunters but when they become the hunted they are as weak as piss, thankfully we won't be the hunted for a while after that pathetic effort. Bailey must make a statement and drop Sylvia.

disgraceful comes to mind. Deplorable skills, to much handball, no real forwardline, no intensity no pressure or tackling.

the attitude of being 'scared to lose' worries me. How do we stamp this out? does it come with experience?

I believe this attitude correlates with our frequent slow starts out of the blocks. It seems we don't come to play until we're a couple of goals down. (except today, when we didn't arrive at all)

I must be the one to say it? we are scared to win more than 4 games, we still have richmond coming up :p

THAT IS HOW WE PLAYED TODAY!!!!

DB wasn't exactly great yesterday either. Hopefully Stynes gives them all a rip.

Have heard that Bailey delivered a very serious attack at the players straight after the game gathered them straight into a room and rip shreads into them which is good to see. Need to see the players show some heart this weekend.

How many times over the years have we seen games like the one against West Coast!
Expected to win but for some unknown reason don't turn up to play!
I remember back in the early 90s when the Swans were no good they could hardly win a game but they would beat us & we had a great side back then, made finals won finals!
Even Fremantle struggled to win games over here in the late 90s early 00s but they would beat us some of the time!
This culture at Melbourne of getting comfortable with ourselves when things appear to be going well appears to be still present,DB has to get this out of the place & quick smart!
